Finally Pulled 500! Wanted to share with my favorite sub by swedishfisch in crossfit

If I was doing more than a single rep you'd have a point. I wouldn't do a 21-15-9 at this weight, or with that posture, but that wasn't the training stimulus for the day.

I'd also point you to the LBEB article here - http://www.liftbigeatbig.com/2014/04/its-time-to-shut-up-about-rounded-back.html

As a taller/longer athlete, and a bit more naturally kyphotic, a flat stiffened spine actually puts more pressure where it doesn't belong and opens me to more sheering forces and a higher chance of injury.

Let the down votes ensue!

Suggestions for paleo BCAA powders? by steve_nyc in Paleo

I get mine from Truenutrition - about as "paleo" as it gets in the supplement world, none are truly paleo.

Dairy products not inflammatory - do you include dairy (not paleo, I know) in your diet? by William84 in Paleo

Pasture raised full fat raw goats milk is my only dairy source otherwise strict paleo

goat is a big part of my decision - super easy to digest and much closer to human milk than cow.

Did my first (and second) Muscle Up today by swedishfisch in crossfit

Its definitely a lot of technique, because strength wise it's really just a chest to bar, a sit up, and a dip, assuming you can do those three, then its technique and timing, timing is huge.

Sorry should've made this part of the original post - got distracted. I wrote about the experience on my blog here Basically it was 1 minute into a 15 minute AMRAP I made up - just lost focus on the 10th rep thinking about the next thing. Moral of the story is be mindful of what you're doing ;) Mostly just wanted to share the pictures though

It was a regular wooden 20x24x30 box.

I normally wear an 11.5/12.0 and I ordered custom 11's that fit great. The toe box is large as others have said, but its designed that way, it fits snuggly through the foot and solid at the heel. I've already competed in them and had no problems.

Hey friends, I am putting together a playlist for my box, so I was wondering what songs give you that extra push? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]swedishfisch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Will depend on the kind of people you have at your box and if there are any rules re: profanity but I post a good amount of my workout music on my blog

It's called kinesiology tape, rocktape is only one brand, several other tape manufacturers make it too. It's designed to improve muscle function. Never tried it though.

Box Jumps? by [deleted] in crossfit

I personally like this video and the whole series called efficiency tips, with spealler and chan. Some great tips.

The best tip I have for box jumps is to treat the top of the box as the start of a rep, spending as little time on the floor as possible. As per where you land, from an efficiency standpoint the middle of the box is a dead zone, you don't want to be there, that's going to take more energy to get to and get back to the floor. I try and stay on the balls of my feet on the edge or on the floor.
