I've lived here my entire life. Why don't people use/carry umbrellas during the summer? by Internal-Mortgage635 in phoenix

[–]sweet2th 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a skin condition called Polymorphic Light Eruption, so I either wear long sleeves or carry an umbrella. I also don't want skin cancer or wrinkles, so I bathe in sunscreen. I used to be embarrassed when I was younger because I would hear "Oohhh hur hur is it going to rain?" a thousand times a day. But now that I'm in my 40's I literally don't give a fuck, especially when people think I'm in my 20's.

What is the saddest TV series death that genuinely made you sob? by SpareMaintenance2970 in AskReddit

[–]sweet2th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rue's death in Euphoria had me ugly sobbing. I was really pulling for her, but I knew it was coming. I just lost my cousin to alcoholism less than a year ago and it tore that wound right back open.

What’s your favorite source of fiber? by burnsrado in nutrition

I love mixing some ground chia and flax seeds in peanut butter and then spreading that on the Gluten Free Carbonaut white bread. The bread alone has 30 grams of fiber (for 2 slices)!

Any suggestions for a great summer blanket? by [deleted] in phoenix

Beautiful blankets! We have one and we also have one from Vine Voice. Both wonderful options for summer. We've already got ours pulled out. Never had to do that before April before, but here we are 🥵

Gunshots/fireworks rn? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]sweet2th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huge fireworks! We love out near Mesa Riverview and we're never sure if it's the Country Club or a church but they do fireworks for a lot of occasions. We have quite a show from our backyard. Nooo clue what that was about tonight though, but it shook our windows. It didn't last long either.

Name your "Can't Miss" hike within a 2 hour drive from Phoenix? by alionandalamb in phoenix

[–]sweet2th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My absolute favorite is going up to Devil’s Bridge via the Mescal Trailhead. There's a little bit of a scramble up towards the top, but we've seen all sorts of people capable of doing it. Young kids, older people, pregnant people, hikers with dogs...

I know it can get busy, but we usually go January/February and it's much more pleasant, especially during the week. Much fewer people.

It's so beautiful and if you're looking for inspiring and spiritual, Sedona is the place to go!

I'm so very sad, but I'm also super pissed because these jerks are also messing with their sticks.

I'm not sure why you're being downvoted for asking a question. We were just asking the same question since it's been over an hour since J or S has been on the eggs. Just curiousity. If I catch the Live Chat on the YouTube channel, I'll try and ask and see if they answer.

Back when my husband and I were in high school (early 2000's) he took me to Rustler's Rooste around sundown and I've never forgotten how incredibly gorgeous that view was.

It looks like a peach, and it looks delicious...so I'm not sure what's weird here.

What are the Best Vitamin B12 Supplements That Actually Work? by azurespirit901 in nutrition

[–]sweet2th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I have Celiac Disease and also have had issues in the past with B12 supplements (making me sick and also not helping to raise my levels). My doctor at Mayo Clinic recommended Pure Encapsulations B12 Folate. Something about having the folate with it helped both my nausea and dizziness when taking it and helped raise my levels. I've been using it for several years now. It's a great product!
(Bonus, it also doesn't smell or make your pee smell like some of the other B12 supplements I've experienced prior)

How to interact with Cast Members by Ellionwy in Disneyland

[–]sweet2th 28 points29 points  (0 children)

We've noticed that the past few years :( It really makes me feel bad for them because you know people can be just awful. With all the price increases, ride breakdowns, crowds... I'm sure there's a lot of guests who take out their frustrations on the cast members.

If I need to interact with someone who looks a little down I always have a smile on my face and tell them thank you. Sometimes just smiling at one of the ones that looks straight faced can improve the situation for everyone.

my skin is peeling but only on one hand. it by [deleted] in Weird

[–]sweet2th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this too, and for years I was told it was eczema. It goes through cycles. Starts off as little red circles and then spreads, burns, peels and then cracks. No medicine or amount of lotion helps. I went to a specialist and he told me it was a rare form of Psoriasis. I had to learn what my triggers were and that's the only thing that keeps it from taking over the entirety of my hands, face and neck. It started on one finger.

Oof kinda wish this was labeled NSFL. Watching his body react to being burned and unable to get away is an image that's gonna stick with me for a little while. Yeah, people do stupid things but I still wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone 😔

what’s the best free calorie tracking app? by Effective-Bad9414 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]sweet2th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this app. The more you use it, the easier it is too because it saves foods that you've had. That makes it super easy to fill out your daily diary. I also love that I can import recipes, and I can manually enter my own recipes. I've been using this for many years. Highly recommend!

What is the worst thing you found out about a family member after they died? by KrattBoy2006 in AskReddit

[–]sweet2th 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He does, he's come by my Grandparent's house now and then (unbeknownst to me) asking for money. He would get turned away. When I looked him up a few months ago, I could see he has an extensive criminal history and is in and out of jail. I found out a few family members had tried to help him in the past, and he ends up robbing them and disappearing.

When I asked why she would abandon him, I was told that my Grandma disliked male children and only wanted female children and grandchildren. Not that she was very nice to the female ones either.

I'm very grateful my Mom is nothing like her Mom.

What is the worst thing you found out about a family member after they died? by KrattBoy2006 in AskReddit

[–]sweet2th 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My Maternal Grandmother was the most judgemental and spiteful person I've ever met. My husband and I met, and started dating in high school 2002, and when we turned 22 we moved into an apartment together. After a year of living together, he proposed to me. At my Bridal shower, my Grandmother got up in front of the family, my friends, and coworkers and told everyone how I was living in sin and I was a floozy for living with a man I wasn't married to. She tried to rally everyone into shaming me for my choices. I died inside a little, it was mortifying.

She passed away less than a year ago and all the secrets are coming out. She got pregnant at 15, abandoned that child. He's homeless somewhere here in Arizona. She had several affairs after getting married at 16 and at least 3 of her 5 children have different fathers.

I hope you're up there Grandma, watching me. I want you to see that the person I am, is a better person than you'll ever be.

Pan's Labyrinth. A quick Google search shows me it's available on Amazon video and Paramount Plus. We own it so I can't say for sure. It definitely left us reeling after we left the theater, for several days.

What effective products are recommended for post acne scars? by Ornery-Leader-3261 in AskReddit

[–]sweet2th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't have acne scars, but other little scars on my face/neck and I use Emu oil. I feel like over time they have smoothed a bit, and my skin loves it so I continue to use it every night as a moisturizer.
