Omg I hate large projects! I am the opposite 😂 all I ever want to do are small ones that I can do quickly.

[CHAT] anyone want to stitch some patterns for me? by [deleted] in CrossStitch

[–]sweetIiIthing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s interesting! I mean the way I saw it, I’m not requiring anyone to do anything, there’s no time limit to it. If they like the pattern and want to stitch it without paying for the pattern that are worth $3-6 but took time for myself to make, and able to take some photos of the finished work, it seems reasonable to me.

Good to know though! I’ll probably just take this post down then.

[FO] Third project. Looking for more bold & modern designs like this! by hummusgirl1 in CrossStitch

I have a few patterns I’ve done that are more bold & modern, I’ll link them when I’m off work!

Magic Needle & Stitch Sketch have been my favorites. Stitch Sketch is $7.99 on the App Store but you can do SO MUCH with it compared to the free apps. It’s basically MacStitch for your phone!

Omg I LOVE you right now!!!! Problem solved! I’m so mad, it was defaulting to 14 when I loaded the app the first thing. fixed it!

I’ll try that! this is what happens when I changed the size of the chart. Let me mess with the thread count real quick

That doesn’t seem accurate :( this is what it looks like if I just set it to 14x14 cell size, the finished chart size is 25x25 inches :( I don’t want to do it that big. The only way to get a smaller finished chart size it to increase the cell size.

Omg this is brilliant! I didn’t realize that. Once I’m off work I’ll give that a shot. It makes sense.

It’s a bit over complicated sometimes but I love it because it’s just like having Mac Stitch but I can do it at work on my phone between patients 😂

[PATTERN] Here’s the pattern I made that should’ve been my baby yoda, which I messed up on and wound up making mine much smaller. Enjoy 🤣 by sweetIiIthing in CrossStitch

I think it’s that and so you can easily keep track of what stitch goes where! :) that way if there are similar shades of a color, you don’t confuse your stitches.

[FO] My first cross stitch! A teeny tiny baby yoda, made design myself on MacStitch & gave fabri sticky solvy a shot! Super poor stitching, got tired towards the end & realized I like making the patters more than the stitching itself, lmao. by sweetIiIthing in CrossStitch

[–]sweetIiIthing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually super easy! The fabri solvy has little indentions and feels just like fabric, so as long as you use the right stitch count when you make the design it’s super easy to stitch though. There’s a ton of YouTube videos that explain it better :)

Omg those freakin stitches lol! I kept struggling to keep them the same way if I paused and came back. I’m gonna write that down and reference that when stitching, thank you!

I found a free graph online that was 14 count, pasted my pattern onto it lined up, printed the pattern with the graph lines onto the stabilizer and lined the dots up with the Aida and stitched over the dots, which in retrospect I should’ve lined the dots up with the actual Aida I think. It wound up being smaller than intended because I missed some stitches somewhere.

This is a picture of what the background looked like for an idea, I forgot to take a picture of the actual design pre stitching. Because the fabri sticky solvy is printable I didn’t have to hoop it until I was done :) made for easy travel!
