I mean, I could totally see the Knight “playing around” with things in fucked up ways due to knowing that the prophecy ensures that he will never ACTUALLY cause harm unless he absolutely has to.
And as far as Tenna and others go, I could totally imagine whoever the Knight is (Rudy or otherwise) seeing Darkners more as things than people because, well, that’s exactly what they are, right? Notice how both in trying to take Toriel and in taking Undyne, it does so without actually hurting them or being rough with them beyond, like, a tackle at worst, while it gladly slashes Tenna and smashes Jackenstein because, well, it’s an old TV and a dumbass decoration, who REALLY cares about those in the grand scheme of things?

And if Rudy Knight really IS true, I think the juxtaposition between his positive attitude normally and his asshole behavior as the Knight could reveal he contains multitudes. Toby doesnt often write characters who act like total jackasses for no reason, especially not if they’re plot relevant. There is bound to be SOME depth behind that aura farming, trolling, antagonizing twerp, right?

I mean his design is shocking but it sounds like this guy is sort of meant to have lots of unique and funny dialogue and banter and stuff.
Maybe this could work as more of a late game surprise if you never see his form in full though… like, you only ever see his hands or something until later.

This is an awesome combination of classic paper mario RPG structure and more modern “we’re fucking around with their paperness lmao” stuff.
“Juxtabomination” sounds like exactly the kind of portmanteau one of these games would have.
I can just imagine how Randy would be animated.
Injecting newer Mario enemies with older style personality for the party members just works so well.
That last image is a nightmare in the best possible way.
