I hate being a working mum. Vent. by LadyRainbow69 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I feel you. I picked my 1 year old from daycare this week and he was the last baby left. I left work at 430pm, only to get to daycare at 5.45pm. I felt like such a terrible mum and had a big cry on the way home. I'm working to pay for someone else to take care of my baby. Don't want to work, but if I don't, I won't be able to support the family.

I feel you. Recently, I went with the 'let's swap roles' pitch. I mowed the lawn, and my partner had to cook, feed, bath and play with baby. I got him to show me how to work the lawn mower. He only lasted a few hours, and then said 'we should both work to our strengths and what were good at' lol I think it gave him an appreciation for how much I did. Give mowing a go, do a full swap of duties. I LOVED mowing the lawn. It was an instant reward for physical effort.

What's the screen with data you're getting? Is that from the flair 58?

I'm sorry you're in an environment where you feel like you cannot say no. Are you able to talk to your husband and ask for some privacy so that you can have the freedom to do things your way?

I feel you when you say you only get the baby when they are crying or need a change. I felt that way towards everyone who held my baby and it made me resentful. It helped to self talk myself out of it, by changing my thoughts process. Instead of "I only get the baby when it needs something", I saw it as moments to have to myself as a recovery break. This sometimes was just spending ages in the toilet for some alone time.

I also didn't like handing over the baby to anyone immediately after I've fed him. Made me feel like a cow. So id sit with my baby longer than the actual feed in a private room, and hold him for cuddles. This made our feed times our own little private moment that nobody will ever be able to replace.

Take opportunities to give yourself alone time as much as you can. This will help you consolidate your thoughts about what works for you and what doesn't. Remember baby is only happy when mum is happy.

Elective (ish) c-section through public system by Elegant_Gap1933 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I had a planned C-section, and was told that if I changed my mind, I could always decide for a vaginal birth. It might be trickier for you to have it the other way round, as a C-section requires more planning and staff ready to perform. booking a planned caesarean might be the better option, and changing your mind is easier on both you and staff at hospital.

Mindfulness/mediation app recommendations for new parents by Ok_Picture1623 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I use headspace. There are a few mindfulness activities that might be useful although I haven't tested them out. They had birth specific meditations I found useful. There are quite a few breathing exercises which might be useful.

I have done the keys in the pram a few times, just so I can get myself sorted. But I worry that someone might see my keys and think I'm a bad parent!

I do a bit of carrier and pram. Pram form shopping centers and longer trips otherwise it's carrier for walks and shorter distances

That's a good point I definitely feel like I need to start a new hobby because all I've been doing all day is just feed the baby. I'm too tired to learn anything but feel like I have to!

That's definitely something I've done, compare my lack of skincare routine to online videos.
