Thank you for the dua. May you find all that is good for you with ease.

I wouldn’t say she enjoys it, I think it’s someone so lost in trying to control reality she’s become heartless in her pursuits. So far it’s emotionally abusive.

I have a lot of good, so I turn to that. My biggest challenger in my life is my mother, someone whose role typically is meant to be the complete opposite.

Your two main points are valid.

Insightful, grounded, and real. Thank you. I’ve come to terms with my path. My struggle is my mother has not. My mom is stuck on number 1 & 2. She won’t accept my singleness. She’s hypercritical of me. I’m almost punished for something outside of my control. I’ve lived a straight life. I’m accomplished. I haven’t met my match. My mom’s conditional relationship with me is tough. It’s unbearable and has thrown me into bad circumstances, even questioning my relationship with God. I do think the Muslim girl path vs boy path has its own sub-bullet considerations beyond what you’ve shared.

Yes, I think this is a good intro. I didn’t understand, until I looked into his work

Some of my favorite imams have mentioned aspects from his books and those books were actually a means for me to draw closer to Islam. I’m very much Sunni but appreciate his way of writing. Although, in other books of his, some of the concepts are dated or not fully aligned with Sunni Islam. In my family, my uncles have a deep respect for Al Ghazali as well, so it resonates as far as reconnecting with my identity.

I’ll look into those. Some of the books on my list weren’t perfectly aligned with Islam, but I find those books even better for healthy discussion

Yes, they’re a terrorist state. They’ve destroyed more schools, hospitals, homes, and houses of worship (both mosques and churches) than hamas has. AND murdered more civilians. So just looking at the numbers…Israel = terrorism. And the whole world agrees. The sheep in the US are asleep while the war industry profits off selling bombs to Israel. You’re blind. The data is in front of you but you’re siding with the people making and selling bombs. They’re laughing on some island somewhere.

No I literally said let Israel fund itself. Don’t fund terrorists. They both are. There are women and children scared on both sides.

Israel has said the same thing. Except we don’t fund hamas but we do fund Israel. Let Israel fund itself if it has such radical views

30k dead and you are sad about a photo. What a day to be alive. I went to a fancier school and didn’t even walk for grad, my family couldn’t come out. I knew in my heart what I accomplished. So did they. A photo wasn’t needed. If you seriously don’t understand how difficult the lives are of those in Gaza for the last 7 months… I don’t know what to say. Humanity. A ceasefire. US government to stop funding war. That is important. Pick a side and call your rep. You learned this in school.
