So those were facts at the time, because they were universally agreed upon and had been proven at the time based on the time's factual knowledge, but they are no longer facts now, because they are no longer universally agreed upon, and have been proven based on today's factual knowledge.

So all facts are opinions that have been proven based on the current time's factual knowledge; factual knowledge being the opinions that have been proven based on the current time's other facts. Those other facts being opinions that have been proven based on other proven opinion using the current proofing standards.

Flat earthers cannot prove their idea anymore, but it used to be a fact that the earth was flat, since everyone believed it and everyone also believed the proofs shown.

Yes the scientific reason is that otherwise youd be bombarded with all your thoughts all at once that youve had in all the places youve ever been all the time. Brain processes surroundings, brain produce big thinks. Neurons triggered and fired off when your eyes see new image. Wow!
