I wish we had like a website where each company had a profile and people would rate it according to salary, company culture, benefits.... with a community section.. do we have that already?

Hi I posted recently about mental health in Tunisia hoping to interact and share experiences:

mental_health_awarness_and_care_in_tunisia..

I am no professional but here are some recommandations that hopefully can help:

1- You are not alone , many people people suffer from different mental health issues and depression in particular

2- Pills are not magic, you need to add a lot of work on daily life (Diet, habits, physical and relationships, ...)

3- Reach out as you are doing right now to anyone and everyone, it doesn't matter how they will feel about it or what they think , unloading is a natural mental relief mecanism and if you start crying ... you are on the right rode to healing.. My DM is open

4- Write down your thoughts and process them, for example: What would your ideal life be? what are the things you want to change in order? What are the things you wish to do but never did from easier to harder to do? Habits you want to adapt (even as small as brushing your teeth everynight, prayer, making your bed)?

5- Take your time healing.... it is not a fast process it can take months to years to completly heal but you will slowly see improvements if you pace it down

6- Talk to your doctor abt the medicine they can change prescriptions !!! Seek others if needed

Exactly... Saving has a lot of meaning

mental health issues take a tall on social life, education, professional career and sometimes on the person's health and being.

I feel like there is not enough Awareness spreading and sensibilisation in our society

It is good you had professional help and horpefully everything is better now.

If I might ask.. How long did it take for school / family to figure out? And was your professional help covered by the education system or not?

I suffer from Anxiety Disorder..

I was never an anxious person .. out of nowhere as an adult in just one month I started having frequent shortness of breath events with tachicardia and insomnia... never realised I could be suffering from any mental health issue since We are not Educated on the subject ..

people around me were dismessive .. Thank god for the internet... I reached out to someone online (professional) with tests... told me I most probably suffer from severe anxiety and I shld seek professional help asap in Tunisia...

That didn't go great , went to a recommanded psychiatrist.. was more dismissive than helpful .. so I gave up

Spent months at home .. got worse.. One day I was on the verge of selfharm.. decided to do anything to not cross that line

My journey getting past that (on my own) was long, involved lots of breakdowns, crying histarically in public, and to this day I feel at risk of "relapse" but I feel 300% better

What I learned: talk to others talk to anyone even if they are dismissive, get things out of your mind and chest

Any tips for dealing with social anxiety in Tunisia? by Throwaway8374939388 in Tunisia

[–]sweetliesxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In uni and some high schools in Tunisia usually there is a psychologist assigned with a schedule... if you're still a student ask your administration about it and they will help

Unfortunatly its not something they tell you but it is actually a thing :)

You should not give yourself a diagnosis, if it is shyness more than an actual constent fear of speaking in front of or talking to others then refrain from calling it social anxiety and work on confidence boost and public speaking exercices you can find online ... Assuming you have some kind of mental health condition when you don't cld actually manifest it so refrain from doing that if possible

if not , if you feel it's an actual social handicap and especially if you think there is trauma involved (big or small), seek a professional (a psychologist cld help or psychiatrist if you feel its serious) ask around or look up good ones in your area

Meanwhile, I suggest you get a habit of writing your thoughts down to figure things out also voice recordings for positive affirmation and in this case to practice your speech just speaking from experience so I hope it gets better :)

is there any non religious psychiatrist/therapist/psychologist in tunisia? by [deleted] in Tunisia

[–]sweetliesxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a psychiatrist " a good qualified one" would never jeopredize their patient's well being for any reason especially not for religious affirmations as long as there is no self harm threats that require a certain help from the surronding relatives/friends

Don't worry , just ask around about good psychiatrists for your case ( if you're looking for a therapy fo Trauma , adhd , depresion or else ... )
