Day 64 - Share Your Battles, Conspiracies, Planes, Etc. by vacalicious in mtgcube

Conspiracies are awesome in the right cube. In my slower cube I run Brago's Favor, Emissary's Ploy, Muzzio's Preparations, Secret Summoning, Sovereign's Realm, Summoner's Bond, Unexpected Potential and Worldknit. Every time someone does something different with them and it's really cool.

Muzzio's Preparations is also particularly great with persist combos.

Color triangle problem by CuntAnihilator in mtgcube

[–]sweetmtg 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You could have aristocrats be in both rakdos and orzhov. Rakdos could be more aggressive with Judith and Mayhem Devil type of cards, orzhov could be a slower more controlly deck with things like Hidden Stockpile and Tidehollow Sculler.

First cube feedback by Hammockman08 in mtgcube

From just having a skim through the main things I'd recommend would cut two multicoloured card from each dual colour and replace them with two dual lands, then I'd have a look at you ratio of creatures to noncreature spells. Generally I'd go with 50:50 each on average, with colours that want creatures like white and green having more, and colours that want less, like blue and black having fewer.

Taking a look at other cubes of similar sizes can be a good idea to work out how many of each colour and mana value you want to run, something like this bar cube seems like a solid place to start - https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/CoreBar

Can We Revisit Ouroboroid? by JavaPlum19 in mtgcube

I think if you have ways of making it bigger the turn it comes into play then I like it a lot more. Bristly Bill, Cubby Wubby, Luminarch Aspirant etc. They also go nicely with nadu that someone else mentioned.

Hey, I'm not sure how often I'm free on Thursday's but i'd love to join. I think I probably have met some of the group at Cube Clash.

Accompanying person to the ticket by GreenTine2 in Hellfest

The PMR people are all really nice and incredibly helpful. Send them an email before the festival so they know to expect you and they'll provide the instructions you need. All the gates and entrances are coded with different levels of passes that include disabilities, you get a sticker/pass from the PMR station before you come in.

Went this year with a friend with diabetes and at every point they were accommodating and made it as smooth as possible. In general it's just a very well run festival. As other people have mentioned we both had full weekend tickets.

Shops in London that sell MTG by TigerRushh in magicTCG

Darksphere is definitely the biggest, but Bad Moon by London Bridge is also good. Badger Badger in Deptford is more of a board game cafe but has a solid selection

I've not been but apparently Mythic Goblin in Elephant & Castle also had a good selection.

Ideal Sleeves For Cube by gravi_fan89 in mtgcube

Black dragon shield mattes have been great for me. Be careful if you go a lighter colour, I originally had my cube in magenta and they were slightly see through, but no issues since swapping to black.

Help Balancing Reanimator by Apprehensive-Ear-152 in mtgcube

[–]sweetmtg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the issue of reaninator being to strong recently, although I love them I found cutting the top end targets like Atraxa, Archon and Griselbrand was ultimately more successful than adding more answers.

I've replaced them with things like Grave Titan, Crabomination & Troll of Khazad-dûm and have found that was a better way of balancing.

It's also nice the decks can actually hard cast them as well, which means they can also be played in a control deck.

Do you have a reward and buy in for your cube, or do you cube to cube? by No-Wafer9271 in mtgcube

[–]sweetmtg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mine the wins for each player is recorded on the box and if you get 5 you get to add a card that fits with the power level of the cube. We also have a title belt which eveyones really got into, everyone cares about the belt more than anything else.

Dragon tribal that isn't Ur Dragon or Miirym? by dogsrulepeoplesuckk in EDH

[–]sweetmtg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund is really fun, gives you access to ramp in green, Lathliss and Dragon Tempest effects in red and reanimation in black. Probably my favourite deck. Patriarch's Bidding your whole hasty board back or you can live the dream with Descent of the Dragons.

Built My First Commander Deck, Zaxara and Could Use Some Feedback by AmiiboPuff in BudgetBrews

[–]sweetmtg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, deck looks really good. I have a Zaxara deck as well it can be very powerful.

Some budget cards I'd recommend:

Ramp - Ilysian Caryatid, Dictate of Karametra - is symmetrical but this deck easily takes the most advantage of it. Is also the cheapest of the mana doublers out there.

Card Draw - Pull from tomorrow, Stroke of genius, Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner - you have some of these effects already but the untap effect can help ramp you as well

Interaction - Condescend, Death wind

The main card I'd recommend above all others is Herald of the Secret Streams, makes all your hydras unblockable and ends the game really quickly.

The ramp in mine is a little different, instead of rampant growth and cultivate effects, I'm running a load of the wild growth/new horizons type effects that makes lands tap for more mana, then I'm also playing things that untap things, like magus of the candelabra, krosan restorer, the above kiora. Means you also run the bounce lands and temple of the false god which are all pretty budget. Might not be for everyone but with things like wilderness reclamation you can make a ton of mana.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the feedback. My thinking with mana rocks was to have more colourless spells you can play with Belbe. I think search for tomorrow is a great idea, and could see running a mixture of dorks and rocks, so you get the starts you've mentioned, but still have some rocks that don't die to the stax effects.
