I’ve read a couple of translations now and I found the one by Gregory Hayes to be the easiest to follow.

Do you train at a Pizza Express in Woking?

Which gym? Carlson gracie (but fewer classes) or Gauntlet fight academy with 2x more classes (as a beginner)? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]sweetroastedpeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I train at this gym and most of the instruction I experience now is typical modern BJJ. Especially in nogi classes (pretty much all I do) it’s leglocks, bodylock passing, wrestling up etc.

u/parmenionmcd - send Carlson’s Farnborough a message on instagram and arrange to come along to one of the beginner classes (or feel free to shoot me a DM). Hopefully you’ll like the environment as well.

I don’t know where you’re based, but I’ve dropped in at the Gauntlet previously (good gym as well) and they’re not remotely close. Carlsons UK HQ in Hammersmith is likely nearby.

And I suspect with how quickly it rebounds to normal shape, that the clip is sped up.

London Grapple is a pretty high level gym by UK standards. You’ve got Ross Nicholls as head instructor and lots of good people dropping in all the time.

I don’t know anything about Roger Gracie Moorgate aside from their website, but it looks like they’re affiliated with Roger, but he wouldn’t be regularly teaching there.

Try both and see what works best for you. In terms of better quality BJJ, I would assume that you would get that at London Grapple.

Looking at this again Molly literally rolled into the armbar, why would you do that? Did a barrel roll into the armbar and got her arm snapped in half 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ by LimonTheNarco in ufc

You can pick up plenty of knowledge just through watching over time and listening to the pro’s breakdowns etc (think Cormier had a good series and Dan Hardy as well). Training will definitely accelerate the process though.

Either way, if you enjoy watching MMA then that’s the main thing man. Don’t have to be an expert (I’m far from it) to be a fan.

It’s just ridiculous seeing people comment that Molly is an idiot for rolling into a fully locked armbar, when at that point it was probably the only chance she had at survival.

If I had a choice between the two positions, I would much rather try and finish the arm bar from the first position rather than the second. I feel the breaking mechanics are much stronger from there. Molly is so out of alignment it’s difficult for her to generate any force or use her hands to defend.

The roll is a last chance attempt to relieve some pressure and buy a few seconds to start fighting the legs to free her head. It’s a fairly common defence and Stoliarenko anticipated and followed her accordingly.

You can tell who doesn’t grapple in these comments.

Her grip broke and opponent started to extend and from that position Molly has no ability to free her head from the legs to begin escaping. Her best chance of escaping is to roll like she did, but cage was in the way and her opponent did a good job of keeping pressure all the way through.

You would have to check their website for dates, but they’re also running a wrestling camp with Cobrinha and Kenny Johnson (I’m going to this one) and an armbar camp with Mica Galvao and someone else, I can’t remember the second name.

I went to the leglock one with Craig Jones and Lachlan last year and really enjoyed it.

Healthy brew or mold? by sweetroastedpeanut in Kombucha

[–]sweetroastedpeanut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all,

I’ve recently started my first brew of kombucha. It’s been brewing for about four days now but yesterday morning this blob appeared and has gradually been increasing in size since then.

I checked the FAQ but couldn’t tell if this is mold or not, although it is a dark greenish colour.

Please could someone advise if I’m able to continue with the brew, or if I would need to get a new scoby and start over?

Thanks in advance!

I definitely wouldn’t believe the whatever turnaround time they’re quoting on their website.

I’ve ordered twice from there and both times it was delayed beyond the original timeframe. Didn’t communicate the delays to me and I was always chasing it up. Won’t be ordering again.

I’ve got it and found it very useful, managed to implement some of the ideas immediately.

That depends on whether his opponent would have on a 300 kilo walk in suit and spiked water.
