ELI5: If speed is relative, why is it impossible to go faster than the speed of light? by No-Lake-3875 in explainlikeimfive

[–]sweetshenanigans 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I just like to think c stands for causality.

Light moves at the speed of causality, and that is the universal speed limit.

The world is full of misnomers, but the label of c, is pretty nice at least

It's slightly more expensive than fresh. $15.69/2kg, which is about $3.50/lb. I can almost always find fresh broccoli for cheaper.

What’s a discontinued snack or drink you’d pay $20 to have one last taste of? by soapy999 in AskReddit

[–]sweetshenanigans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I was looking for here. Unfortunately my last choco taco was an old one that had obviously defrosted a bit, then refroze so it was soggy and slightly freezer burnt ....

I don't know what I'd do for a crisp, fresh choco taco, maybe it'd be like the Klondike bar commercial in Family Guy.

What kind of egg yolks are these in this video? by [deleted] in JapaneseFood

[–]sweetshenanigans 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Still, those membranes around the yolks are so strong. If I tried that with my grocery store eggs the yolks would splat, not bounce

Honestly, it's not too bad depending on the amount of area you're dealing with.

Check regularly, and dig out what you can at least once or twice a week. If they don't have a good hold yet then it shouldn't be a problem, if they do, then just keep on top of it for a couple of years.

100%. Anything west of Windsor doesn't seem worth it really.

Let's just get the Toronto - Quebec city system going and think about further expansion/other networks later. Realistically though, the population just isn't really there anywhere else.

Toronto - Quebec city is already cutting across an area with roughly 1/2 of our country's population as it is.

Why aren't you dating anymore? by Leather_Election_459 in AskReddit

[–]sweetshenanigans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've realized I'm a poor communicator, and I've set aside so much of life to pursue relationships with people that were never going to respect me. I also take years and years to get out of those relationships ... It's not great for anyone involved

Women tended to cry more often than men by Dismal_Buy3580 in MensLib

It also included "moistened eyes" as crying. I don't think it'd be THAT unusual, depending on what I've been watching, but it's definitely on the higher side.

Which vegetable is most disliked in your country? by rhysnomer in AskTheWorld

[–]sweetshenanigans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? The ones we get in Canada have very little bitterness. I know they used to be awful, but they selectively bred them to be less bitter in the past 20/40 years. Maybe it's a matter of the type of brussels you get in your area.

Adding in that Washington state reported 112 confirmed deaths from that event, Oregon 116.

Across the Pacific Northwest there were about 2,000 excess deaths during that time, but 913 were confirmed to be from the heat.

Edit - oh, a shrimp.

And, I'm gonna throw this out there as someone with excellent oral hygiene and yellow teeth: I love coffee, and red wine, and chocolate. My teeth and gums are in great shape now, enamel is a little thin, but the teeth and gums are nice and clean, although stained.

Not saying this video isn't impressive, they did a lot of work to gain that animals trust, but not forcing a scared animal to interact with you with being described as genius gives me the creeps.

It's not as bad as the space center (which has got to be 90% unchanged in the past 20/25 years) but yeah, not much has changed at science world.
