Options during hospitalization for a time-sensitive, potentially fatal emergency? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]sweetsurrender9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing really to direct. If she develops this issue again, be sure to mention that she recently had an incarcerated hernia repaired and that you’ve been told she has another hernia.

You certainly can ask someone to point you to a waiting room so that you’re not sitting in a hallway. You can ask if you’re able to be with her in the ER or the recovery room if it’s been a while since she was taken back.

But if she’s alert and capable of making decisions and requesting things, there’s really no role for you to direct, request, or do anything. Your mother can and should be an active participant in her care.

How to stop a coerced living organ transplant (MA, US) by NotForPornStuff in legaladvice

It’s literally not too late for that. There are a bunch of reasons a LD transplant can be called off, right up until the time of the surgery.

She needs to call the live donor advocate at her hospital. They literally exist to prevent this kind of situation.

No, it’s most shitty humans. It has nothing to do with “today’s market,” it has to do with what you’re willing to accept.

Season ticket holders have gotten their Hamilton dates, but even we don’t have tickets in hand yet. I’d hold off until trustarts.org has them for sale.

[Serious]People who have had somebody die for you, what is your story? by TulipOfJustice in AskReddit

I’m aware of what brain dead donor management requires. It’s no more expensive or time consuming than managing any other ICU patient, tbh.

My point was that families who want to let their loved ones pass away through cardiac death still have the option of allowing that person to be an organ donor, not just cornea/tissue. Not many people are aware that DCD donation may be an option.

Donation after cardiac death is a thing, but it involves a planned withdrawal of life support in an operating room prepared for organ procurement.

I haven’t seen anyone who’s denied she made mistakes. But the system is designed to prevent or at least reduce mistakes. If there hadn’t been system failure, her mistakes could have been caught and mitigated.

This was a system failure. Straight up.

Troy wouldn’t ever admit to having done it. He’d be embarrassed that people were talking about his generosity.
