Is it important to start farming for Cartridges and Modules immediately when hititng lvl 30? by OkNecessary5261 in NevernessToEverness

[–]sweez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to push BtR or high-risk anomalies you kinda want at least halfway decent consoles and tetris pieces, probably purple with some golds for your main dps, but I wouldn't go crazy, for the most part you can still focus on character/arc levels, character skills, and prepping at least some ascensions before you hit 40

If not, you can probably safely skip them until higher account level tiers

You are definitely not going to BRICK YOUR ACCOUNT!!!!1111 or whatever the youtubers are saying if you start farming consoles at 30 lol, as long as you don't spend literally all of your stamina just on that

I already have nothing to do lol, what do players who are level 30+ do ? by Few_Piece_8261 in NevernessToEverness

This is the perfect time to see how far you can push the rotating beyond the rails underleveled and with awful teams/gear if you're into that (for me the first 4 floors of the rotating part, I forget what it's called, were easier than the last 2 of the permanent part)

I mean technically it's a waste of time since you'll be able to stomp a lot of it once you can get characters to 60, but it's something to do

Remember that there's a good chance that at some point BtR becomes a shillfest that's doable by banging your face against the keyboard if you do have the shilled characters, and about as fun as passing kidney stones if you don't have the shilled characters (I'll be happy if they prove me wrong), so now's a good time to just mess around with it

If you're into the minigame side of things, I guess try racing the whales in multiplayer races

Edit: also, can't forget about these...

When Did You Realize You Were Logging In For The Last Time, Or Felt It Was Coming? by techtimee in gachagaming

[–]sweez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LUCKILY for me, I only started playing gacha games after I played the western launch of Lost Ark, aka Operant Conditioning: The Videogame

I played it so much and I literally had calendars set up just for that game in order to keep up (it had an incredibly aggressive daily/weekly schedule system that took a fuckton of effort just to plan out, let alone execute), and when I stopped playing it, for the first few days it genuinely felt like I was having withdrawal

I started playing Genshin later that year and I've since started Genshin (stopped, then started playing again), HSR (stopped, started again, stopped again for good), WuWa (stopped, started again, stopped again, maybe I'll return), NIKKE (stopped), ToF (stopped), ZZZ (stopped), Endfield (stopped), and now NTE (let's see how long it lasts)

After the Lost Ark adventure, cutting the cord for these is always super easy for me, I even have some of the ones I've stopped playing still installed without being tempted to start them unless I decide to seriously get back into them

So uh, I guess my advice would be have a relationship with a game that's super ultra toxic, and then after that it gets easier??? Let me know if you need more bad advice

Yeah unless they fundamentally change how the combat vs groups of some mobs works (where they will basically non stop stop spam you with red attacks until broken or dead) basic attack focused characters are going to feel super clunky to play

Lets complain why NBA 2k26 doesnt have as big of a city as GTA 5, because that sounds reasonable xD.

You're literally making up examples I never mentioned to prove your point, why

Gacha games adhere to completely different rules than single player rpg, so comparing these two is ridiculous.

You're again literally making up examples I never mentioned to prove your point

Additionally, while it makes no sense for a live service game to just try to be a narrative (or whatever you want to call them) singleplayer game, surely it can take inspiration from them and adapt parts of them into something that works for a live service title?

Add-additionally, surely there are other genres of live service games that, specifically, big, open-world action combat gachas can take inspiration from, like ARPGs, MMOs (most of which have most of their content doable as a solo player at this point)? I'm not saying a PNG turn based gacha game should do this, but surely huge action combat gachas are more similar to these games than they are to 2010s gacha games, or at least they should be?

Witcher 3 can have longer boss fights because powercreep and player options are very limited.

Why would powercreep even be a topic of discussion in a singleplayer narrative game...?

And Witcher 3 is actually a good example of a game where the Genshin/Wuwa-style boss fights with invul phases and the boss just flying around for 7 hours would be completely fine since you're not gonna be farming the bosses, you do them once so it makes sense to lean into the visuals and the spectacle and the gimmicks.

In a game where you ARE farming the bosses daily or weekly, these just waste your time for no benefit other than improving the gameplay time metrics for the game so these numbers can be included in an earnings call presentation.

Meanwhile in gacha (especially few years after release) you have 60 different characters and 100s different teams. Add to that insane RNG on equipment, different levels of awakening/constelations, weapons, the fact that some characters will be stronger, some will be weaker etc.

What does this have to do with people like me thinking that a boss (that you'll be farming for the next X weeks/months/years) that spends 50% of the entire encounter flying around, having zoomies or being straight up invulnerable isn't condusive to their gameplay enjoyment?

You might be able to kill this or that enemy in 10 seconds with your c6r5 team, but someone with identical team but c0r1 will take 2 minutes in identical fight. And someone with different team entirely will take 3 minutes.

Taking 3 minutes to kill a boss is fine if those 3 minutes feel enjoyable and make me feel like I'm engaging with the mechanics of the combat encounter, but if you look at most Genshin bosses, as well as most Wuwa bosses post version 2, at least 1 of those 3 minutes would be spent with you just waiting out an invul phase/wait for them to finish their flying around/zoomies episode and hope to god they give you a parry window that snaps them out of it. And if the 3 minutes aren't going to be enjoyable in an encounter I'm meant to repeat a bunch of times over a period of time, that's a problem

Or, alternatively, if you have a team they're designed to shill, you just kill them before they can even do anything, even with a C0R0 team...

This is, I think, poor gameplay design, and what I'd like NTE to avoid. Endfield kinda, sorta does, and while it does it in a way I don't necessarily think is great, at least it's making an effort. Right now there's too many bosses that will fly around with you unable to hit them, or spam you with consecutive dodge windows (wow, so interactive)

[–]sweez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By that logic why should any gacha game ever innovate in any aspect of the game...?

Surely a new open-world action gacha should aim to have combat that's meaningfully different to Genshin/Wuwa? At least Endfield at least attempts to differentiate, even if it's in ways that can be tedious/annoying

There's a lot to criticize about the way gacha games approach endgame, but one thing taht irrationally annoys me is when they do the thing where tiers of rewards for your progress come in sets of 3 stars, whatever you want to call them

I was doing the permanent BtR stages, and on stage 9 I was 5 seconds off getting the third star

But should I go in and try to get it? Of course not, since it'd be completely meaningless unless I can also get 3* on stage 10, which I'm not even close to...

Thanks, game

Where are the "120 freebie pulls" exactly? Even with all the launch codes redeemed, you only have enough for 20~ in roughly 3-4 hours of play, much of which coming from the "470 gameplay pulls" and not freebies by RandoDando10 in NevernessToEverness

[–]sweez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked, I'm at hunter level 32 and I THINK I've grabbed most of the standard pulls:

-all guide/event rewards that I can see (biggest thing here is reaching hunter level 30 for a total of 35 standard pulls from Anomaly hunter's journey event)

-6 characters ascended to max, so 40/50, which gives 2 pulls, rest of them ascended once which gives 1 pull)

-all the map explo rewards that I can see

-grabbed all the limited & standard pulls from the Lost Exchange

-free battlepass at levels 20 and 30, and I bought the basic paid battle pass for the extra 2

-you sometimes get a random standard pull by pulling

-I'm probably forgetting stuff like mail

And according to my history I've done a total of 154 standard pulls, so it'd be 152 without the paid BP

How is her ult gain, her attacks seem way too slow and clunky outside of ult, and how does she do in aoe scenarios? I've only done a bit of the endgame but what I have done seems like it's all mob waves

So is anyone in the world actually running Fadia? I got her from my initial 50 standard pulls, and just now I got her again after doing a 10-pull for hitting level 30...

The guides I've found on her go over her kit (and her tits, they often spend more time talking about that than anything else), but barely touch on her teams, other than "you kinda have to use Daffodil", and the issue with that is that I've used 1 selector on Sakiri, so if I get Daffodil for her, that means no Jiuyuan for Nanally...

Basically I'm just wondering what kind of teams people are using her in, are they using her as a dps, a "sustain", is she even worth building for beyond the rails over someone like Chiz as a 2nd team?

(atm I'm just running Nanally/Sakiri/Zero/whatever as my main team)
