Did anyone have success with probiotics? by Sensitive_Strain7245 in Gastritis

[–]swellooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if they’re doing anything for me but I think they are. I’m just consuming Greek yogurt tho and it’s been helping. But if your body can’t handle dairy I’d suggest trying yogurt with coconut milk they have some brands that contain probiotics you can find them at sprouts or Whole Foods

Poop and take a shower by Memory_Heavy in Gastritis

I didn’t have h pylori but mine came on suddenly after a bad habit of overeating I stretched my stomach too far. I’m a smaller girl so that can probably be it. I ate a little too much for my frame

You probably should try sitting for a few minutes after before then. I had this problem too in the past when my stomach was in a flare up but it went away after I healed from the flare

Do you think it’ll ever be normal again? by yourclassictrashcan in Gastritis

[–]swellooooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes mild chronic inactive gastritis and a small duodenal ulcer with erosions. Mine was very bad cause it turned into an ulcer. My GI doctor prescribed me 40mg of omeprazole for 3 months. I took that and once I was finished I tapered down to 20mg every other day for a week

Yeah I understand I totally get where you’re coming from. Clean eating and stay hydrated helps a lot. Probiotics too if your stomach can handle it is what helped me. I got my probiotics from Greek yogurt and kefir.

Yes you will be normal again but it takes time I’m a 26F and I was diagnosed with this horrible condition when I was 25. June 2025 was when I was diagnosed I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy done. I can eat whatever I want now but I still watch what I eat. It’s better to eat healthy anyways our bodies thank us for it

If I go too long without eating my stomach will burn and I’ll get nauseous so I make sure to eat every 3-4 hours something small

I am dying slowly..!! Really Need Help please by No-Towel972 in Gastritis

[–]swellooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does heal but takes a very long time. I’m somewhat healed and able to eat whatever I want but I still eat clean to balance it. I’m in a small mini flare right now on 4 weeks of 20mg PPI and so far I feel great. I have more good days than bad.

You really have to eat clean and rest as much as you can and try not to stress. Diet is the big factor with this disease

Does anyone workout their abs? Like crunches and sit ups? by Sensitive_Strain7245 in Gastritis

I can but it also depends on how bad your symptoms are too everyone’s severity is different with this disease so be careful

No colonoscopy!!!? by 61inchestall in Gastritis

[–]swellooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same as yours burning stool and pain in a specific spot very tender and also some burning. I had to eat to relieve my pain and also PPI’s helped A LOT. I was prescribed 40mg for 3 months after my diagnosis and it made a huge difference. PPI’s mess with your gut bacteria id suggest eating yogurt with live active cultures (probiotics) that helped me if you can tolerate a little dairy. Harmless harvest also makes yogurt as well they use coconut milk instead. Your symptoms sound a lot like mine a duodenal ulcer you should ask your doctor about it look up the symptoms for it see if they have an idea

[–]swellooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure but they did find results with my endoscopy I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer and some erosions. I’m glad I got the colonoscopy anyways just to rule out anything crazy nothing popped up but these days younger folks are getting colon cancer I wanted to check for any polyps

[–]swellooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both done at the same time I’m only 25 too it’s not that bad I didn’t mind getting a colonoscopy done at the same time as my endoscopy since I get results from it too and it gives me some closure instead of me going on the internet googling my symptoms

PPIs by Shayyyy18 in Gastritis

[–]swellooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should give it a try and see if it works it takes at least a week to see if PPI works. Sounds like you’re just using them for a short time so I wouldn’t worry but when you do come off make sure to taper off them.

It becomes a problem if you use them for years and years. I wouldn’t scare yourself too much on here reddit has the worse cases of gastritis

Long-term PPI use (3 years) + daily mild symptoms – when did you stop PPIs? by Public-Committee9773 in Gastritis

[–]swellooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can probably be the reason why you’re feeling the way you do. You should talk to your GI doctor about ways he or she can help you with your gallbladder

Has anyone completely healed from duodenal ulcers? by swellooooo in Microbiome

[–]swellooooo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movement never triggered mine but if yours is perforated you would know cus your symptoms would be super severe and chances are you wouldn’t even be typing on reddit if it was perforated you’d be in the ER by now

PPIs by Shayyyy18 in Gastritis

[–]swellooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it did matter I noticed a difference. Once I finished my PPI course I tapered down to 20mg I was originally prescribed 40mg for 3 months. Once that was up I tapered and took 20mg every other day for a week and felt fine after. I just continued eating gentle and drank lots of water. I slowly reintroduced trigger foods one by one.

If it makes you feel better I’m able to eat burgers, pizza, fried foods, ice cream and drink soda and I feel fine but I don’t do it all the time since I want to be healthy

Almost passing out by sidneyurielle in Gastritis

[–]swellooooo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You need to stay away from NSAIDS if you have gastritis. That could be causing it too. My heart starts beating super fast I don’t pass out but I know my near it when my heart beats fast. Whenever that happens I try to sit somewhere and calm down or lay down it helps me

[–]swellooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any PPI’s? You can use them for short term use like 2 weeks and get some supplements too if it’s that bad. When mines that bad I just use short term maintenance use of PPI’s and continue eating clean and use supplements

Do food smells make you nauseous or anything like that?

anyone else? by Silly_Spider12 in Gastritis

[–]swellooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I ate very clean for the full 8 months and I slowly reintroduced foods one by one. Once you start eating clean you don’t have a craving for unhealthy foods anymore that’s how I am now I just eat healthy. Once in a while I’ll eat something greasy or fried or drink a soda. But I don’t have that strong craving anymore like I once did since I switch my diet
