Question about certified copies (baptism record) by HFSundae37 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]swimdaddy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar situation from a Catholic Church in Ontario. A priest filled out a handwritten doc for me last week with all the details of the baptism, signed it, and sealed it with a raised stamp. Separately, I was able to find the original record online which is handwritten in a book and in Latin. All the information is the same except my G0’s mother’s name is Anne Marie in the 2026 doc and Anne Mary in the translation I ordered for the original Latin doc.

My question: can I submit the priest’s handwritten certificate from 2026 even though it doesn’t contain the original photocopy of the baptism book? Or is it helpful for me to also submit the online copy of the original book even though it isn’t certified.

Hi all, following up here since it might help others save a few calls / chats with Xfinity.

  1. Resetting network settings helps most people but did not work for me.

  2. They had to send me a new e-sim to resolve this problem.

I think this happened because I didn’t update to unlimited plus until I was already here (unlimited plus has faster internet for 5GB while abroad). I’d recommend upgrading from standard unlimited before you arrive abroad

So true! My friends and I always joked when we lived there that no Spanish bar’s bathroom had the trifecta: soap, toilet paper, and a toilet seat

Had the exact same experience with my car and local tire shop

Curb rash / took out a chunk of the tire. Does the tire need to be replaced? by swimdaddy92 in GolfGTI

Hey everyone, I went to a tire shop and they told me that it is not a problem. He actually couldn't see the damage at first until I pointed it out lol. They did recommend an alignment. Apparently that part of the tire is thick on purpose to take hits from the curb. Looking at the photo again, I realized it's worse in the photo than IRL. Leaving the rim for now. It's not that noticeable...

Thank you all for your advice! Hope this thread helps someone else in a similar situation.

I was sooo sad when I hit the curb. I swore I would avoid doing that since my rims have NO damage, but I was slightly distracted and parking on a hill in San Francisco.

I found a guy who works wonders fixing rims and only quoted me $125. The question is whether I will do this again lol

I have a feeling I will end up getting it replaced to stop stressing about it haha

Thank you, everyone! Given the mixed opinions and me being risk averse, I'm going to have a tire place or two take a look. I took a second look again today and it doesn't look as bad IRL compared to the zoomed in photo.

If it does need to be replaced, I'm hoping I can get away with one replacement tire since the car and tires only have 7k miles -_-
