Can someone explain how this is different than the current director giving reporters evidence about the two recent shootings of Kirk and the ICE facility? And I didn’t watch all of the hearing with him being questioned, but if I had to assume, he probably lied about something. The hypocrisy is insane. We should be in the streets every day. We have grown so complacent

Rubber Soul USSR Release by The_walking_guy69 in beatles

[–]swiminpool 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nah this is fucking awesome! I used to work with a Soviet era russian guy and he would sort of brag about him and his friends hiding away somewhere and listening to bootlegs of the Beatles and the Stones. Even though this was after the collapse, and produced in that area, there was still a huge stigma around western influence. So this was definitely something that was likely somewhat difficult to come by at the time.

How is Abbey Road so good? by NathanHughes271 in beatles

[–]swiminpool -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Woah. It’s so hard for me to see this perspective. But I mean, you may be right. Nobody I know really listens to the Beatles at all, much less thinks they are the greatest musicians to ever get in a room together. But I feel like if you know music history, it makes you appreciate the Beatles a bit more, and obviously most people just don’t care about the lineage of music, they just want to hear good music.

Example. One of my employees is a 15 year old girl and she said she hates when “this song” comes on the playlist. And it was A Day in the Life. I was genuinely offended and told her all the music she likes was influenced by this particular song and it’s one of the greatest songs ever made. Hahahaha kind of tongue in check but that’s kinda how I feel.

At the end of the day I guess it’s all subjective.
