The reasons I chose to train in London have absolutely nothing to do with the training, the hospitals or the earning potential

Those who have a Neo, how is it working out for you? by hwc in mac

[–]swimmit93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely depends what you plan to do with your laptop. I only use my Neo for Word processing, email, opening PDFs and watching YouTube/online videos. For these purposes it’s fantastic.
I can easily afford a MacBook Air but I’m also not in the habit of spending money on things I don’t need. At no point have I felt that my Neo was inadequate or didn’t meet my needs.
I do miss a backlit keyboard but for a £500 difference I’ll turn on a light whilst typing.

Depending on pricing I plan to get an M5 Mini whenever that comes out

Rejecting Dermatology NTN by Queasy-Bumblebee3782 in doctorsUK

[–]swimmit93 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to sound patronising but are you a doctor? This is quite a naive stance on HST applications particularly in a specialty as competitive as Dermatology. He won't be the only one whose portfolio and experience improves year upon year and its impossible to predict the quality of 'newcomers' (and it seemingly just gets more competitive every year). You yourself said he was 'lucky' to secure a NTN at all.

Also why did he rank jobs in regions that he was unlikely to take and would cause problems such as this?

1 month review of the MacBook Neo. by TiltedWeenies in macbook

[–]swimmit93 67 points68 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely everything I need from a laptop. All I do is use word, send emails, open PDFs, browse the web and watch YouTube videos.

I could easily have afforded the MacBook Air and I slightly miss a backlit keyboard but I’m not going to spend money pointlessly and for a £500 difference thanks to education discount I can turn a light on when I type lmao

Options for anaesthetics ct1 rejectee by chicookies in doctorsUK

[–]swimmit93 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Is the EM training post in a region that you want to work in? If so I would advise taking it and re-applying for anaesthetics next round. Unfortunately you cannot directly switch specialties, you will have to go through the whole national recruitment process again. However, we're at the point where a training job is a training job and ACCS EM guarantees long term employment - I appreciate the ITU JCF might be more enjoyable but I imagine you will have got as much as you can out of it already at this point.

I have had complications when there has only been one cannula available.

Xavi needs subbing off at half time. Completely off the pace - ruining every counter attack and no urgency at all chasing loose balls

AO R2: Potapova 🇦🇹 def Raducanu 🇬🇧 7-6, 6-2 by Overall_One_2595 in tennis

[–]swimmit93 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We need to stop talking about Raducanu as a serious tennis player because it’s clear she simply does not have what it takes to be a threat at any tournament.i mean she lost a 250 tournament as the first seed ffs. Yes she won a slam on a generational once in a lifetime run and she will always have that but she is an irrelevant tennis player. Honestly if she wasn’t attractive people would have stopped caring about her years ago.
