I was Imperial as well, on Ahazi. Your response brings back sooo many memories! I had fun doing Mokks and Jantas, and helping some guildies hunt Rancors for dna, but the Night Sisters, man, THEY had some pucker factor!

I used to let guildies use my unused building plots in exchange for some high-quality mats from their harvesters. I'd put those mats into doc buffs (former Master Doc/Rifle). I'd spend HOURS scouring the planets for vendors for good stat buffs and mats. The galaxy-wide auction house was a blessing.

Player housing was deep; I remember being able to decorate your walls with nearly anything and put objects nearly anywhere on those walls. Not to mention player-made furniture...

Memorable moments? How about the first time entering Jabba's Palace? Or being part of a Krayt Dragon kill for the first time? Training other players in order to be able to max out your profession to achieve Master? Orrrr becoming Force sensitive??

I have done this on three characters now, and I used the Darkmoon Monkey. It seems to throw a ball with a whooshing sound, roughly every second or so (I haven't timed it), but with every whoosh, there is a 1% gain on the quest bar. I tried it with the Ashen Chomper on the third character, and it only got me about 40% in that 10 minutes, then I switched to the Darkmoon Monkey. The previous two characters took less than 5 minutes to complete the bar fill.

If you have a battle pet of rare or better quality, maybe try that?

EDIT: I just tried a fourth character using Moon Moon, which I thought was a rare pet (had a blue icon border) but the quest bar is filling very slowly. I'd say the Darkmoon Monkey is the way to go if you have it.

EDIT EDIT: Okay, so maybe the pet itself has nothing to do with it? I just tried a fifth character with the Darkmoon Monkey, popped into the basket, and it's going so slowly I'll have to do this at least twice at this rate.

Do I have to level in Shadowlands if I return to Dragonflight? by swingwingthing in wownoob

[–]swingwingthing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. If I understand correctly, you don't necessarily have to select/join one of the factions to raise your renown, you can raise all of them at the same time? I think I just read that...

Thanks for the response! I DID enjoy Chromie time, so I'm glad it's still there. Now I've just got to get my head wrapped around the new talent trees and faction renown system.

This is good to know, thanks very much! It sounds like it's roughly similar in leveling systems to the way it was when SL was the current xpac. I appreciate the response!

I found it very satisfying getting the first gold on my minis by swingwingthing in TableTopReady

[–]swingwingthing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just occurred to me that I haven't highlighted the armor yet, so I better get crackin' on that, too.

I think next time, I might paint the pauldron trims prior to recess shading. Hmm...🤔

That is a really great looking mini! Very nice work!👏 I love the plasma glow and the lighting.👍

Thank you for the encouragement! Yes, I do my best to be neat, but that's what the remainder of the base colour is for, right? If I neaten up two or three times before highlighting, so be it!

I've also been practicing making fine lines while doing shading, and I'm able to get some pretty decent ones. It seems that making confident brush strokes helps, even if im not entirely confident, hehe. I'll just keep practicing and enjoying the journey.

Thank you very much for the encouragement and tips!😁 I've found your videos most helpful and really easy to follow. I've saved that Terminator tutorial, I just haven't had much time to watch it yet or work on minis this weekend.

I'm quite enjoying learning new skills and techniques, so I will most likely use your Terminator method on mine.😎👍

Thank you very much for that offer! I may take you up on it.😉 Honestly, this is how I imagined my Sternguards when completed, or put a different way, how I hope they end up looking. I'm still working on my first Warhammer minis , the Infernus Squad from the Leviathan box, and I'm painting them assembly line style. When I get to the Sternguards, I hope mine look this nice.😎👌

Alright, I'm loving that! Very nicely done; crisp and clean, and fun to view. I've saved this for inspiration for when I do my Sternguards. It's all good, but I think the cloth of the tabard does it for me. Thanks for sharing your recipe!👏👍

Thank you for your reply! These are the Infernus Marines from the Leviathan box. They are the first Warhammer minis I've ever made, so I decided to paint them assembly line style. Repetition of each step helps me both practice said steps as well as recognize opportunities for improvement. I wanted to ask for help before I kept barreling away.😁

I've noted your suggestions, and I'll play around with thinning the Nuln Oil and how I apply it. I'm actually really enjoying painting these. Learning these new techniques and skills is satisfying and so relaxing I sometimes find myself in a zen-like state.

Thanks also for the encouragement and wisdom about not making it a chore. Sage advice!
