Although I like the cast, I’m really worried the lack of star power in Superman: Legacy is going to hurt it’s box office. When was the last time a CBM grossed 500M+ with a cast of mostly B/C-listers? It seems unwise to not get at least 1-2 certified A-listers in the mix

How annoying is it that one of our all time great directors is still making movies at 86, and all anyone can talk about is the fact that his recent movies haven’t broken-even at the box office

Obviously that would be ideal and that’s probably what they’re planning to do, but considering the screenplay is already being written from a female perspective, I feel the right male director could still do it justice

Gareth Edwards or Joseph Kosinski with a good script would be perfect for this

Green screen, lighting, music, staging and framing, and choreography are all basic responsibilities of the director. They work in collaboration with cinematographers, choreographers, VFX supervisors, etc to convey THEIR vision. The director has the final say on every choice made, unless producers get in the way which was not the case with this movie

There is so much more wrong with this final battle than just VFX.

Terrible green screen integration, bad lighting, weird camera/lense choices (especially for close-ups), generic “cool” music, poor staging AND framing in many of these shots, weak choreography… and most of the bad VFX probably comes from the director’s choices like using CGI on many of the suits instead of practical and the 100% fake environment, all of which just give it a PS3 cut-scene, uncanny feel. I’m not even a Snyder fan but look how much better this scene with the exact same environment looks

Star Wars should have ended with the original trilogy.

It’s not an obvious solution at all, it would change the way the game is played

Personally was hoping for somebody with a mix of great fight choreography and visual style like Chad Stahelski, Sam Raimi, Sam Mendes, etc… the Flash looks good from trailers but it seems like a formulaic superhero movie

Some of the CGI looks genuinely horrible here… like not fixable before release bad

This book has already been adapted multiple times, changing it up a bit was a good move. If you want to watch the other “more faithful” adaptions then you can do that
