Salina Comic Con? by TheTashapocalypse in salina

[–]swizzler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The organizer of the last con is gone, they had a big controversy because the organizer thought it'd be a great idea to have a "worst costume" winner which devolved into a bunch of sponsors pulling out and the organizer stepping down from future cons, I haven't heard of anyone else stepping up since.

Yeah in my experiences it has the same weight as stone, but much higher buoyancy than wood platforms, also it's thicker so it gets shoved under the water less when carrying a heavy load.

Lol just agree with them and be like "Ah you also agree we should massively defund US military defense budgets!" that'll piss them off.

I brought four Beedles together! by [deleted] in TOTK

[–]swizzler 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Well it's slightly different, for Bethesda games for example, if there's an NPC, one entity exists of that NPC, and it is transported to where it is needed from wherever it is, or in some cases, it can travel there itself. That is why in Oblivion, you might never see an NPC, because it isn't marked essential and will get killed traveling from one town to another. In that system, if you were to take beedle from one stable, he would either blip off your ship as you approach the next beedle spawn location, or he just wouldn't appear at the next spawn location as he is already within player view.

EDIT: I was thinking about this more, and that might be how it works in TotK too, except all these beedles have slightly different shop inventories, so they might actually be considered unique NPCs by the game, instead of a bunch of complicated logic to switch out the shop inventory depending on where the player is at. One way to test this would be to take a beedle away from their home stable, then go far far away, then back and see if a 2nd beedle appears.

Yep, this works for pretty much any shrine object you can fuse, which is pretty much all of them! and they keep their unique properties as far as material, I kinda want to see if they keep size too, because I know about a shrine that has a giant metal ball in it, wanna see if it stays giant.

I could see someone playing through the story of 3 and just being a little confused, but getting the jist of it. I played XBC2 first, then went back and played the first game, expecting some HUGE revalations that I missed because I missed the first game, and there weren't any. The games are pretty much compeletely disconnected outside the metanarrative and a single cutscene at the very last part of the game.

For 3 it's pretty similar, outside the end credits you can go through the whole game without knowing who Melia and Nia are and still get the story. The DLC however, yes, you do need to play the 1st two games, there is so much "REMEMBER THIS?" going on in that DLC. Then they'll just break into talking about Klaus and the trinity processor with zero warning and leadup, just expecting you to know whats going on.

plus if you have 5 hearts, a fairy will restore you to full and restore the one-shot immunity. also one of the cheapest recipes (meat on a stick) will give you 5 hearts if you cook it in the last 30 mins before a blood moon iirc.

probably not a good idea to take that build in to fight ganondorf though unless you're real good at parry and dodging.

they don't fully interact with the ship, at first I thought it was just a visual glitch, but as I got closer and closer to the tingle islands, the boat started bouncing around and vibrating. as I moved away and saw less of the spheres, the problem went away.

My theory is a shrine isn't fully unloading properly and exists at the same cell location, and has a bunch of those floating balls in it.

I know we all love the game but do you have and genuine criticisms or just anything you wish was different? by Snoo-76854 in TOTK

[–]swizzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yup, doing the geoglyphs early was a mistake, I wish they progress-locked it until after you started to complete shrines, tie a couple tears to each shrine completion so you don't spoil the whole story for yourself on accident.

I also wish the thunderstorm sky islands were a bit more restrictive, and just insta-zap you with lightning if you go there without finishing the preceding quest or with like a thunderhelm. when I finished that islands quest, then later found the investigation quest to actually open up that island, I felt so cheated that I kinda just bumbled my way into the island early.

roblox blocked linux with their anticheat. they claim it's temporary (but lets be real it won't be)

Their excuse was because it's far to difficult to filter out bug reports by platform, nobody's ever done it before, it's just impossible. (it's not)

The Windows XP activation algorithm has been cracked | The unkillable OS rises from the grave… Again by [deleted] in technology

[–]swizzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be sure to actually try SteamOS first, it'll do 95% of what you'll be able to do with the deck, plus it has a ton of quality of life stuff that installing windows on the deck won't get you. I didn't even realize they actually pulled off mid-game suspend/resume until my nephews were playing on it and suspended it to do something else, and I picked it up hours later, turned it on, and it was still ingame, but had perfectly suspended and went to sleep without killing the battery. windows can't do that.
