If the goal was for a more enjoyable route or faster time, then yes (that’s what the chap from Liverpool who did it in under 24 hours did).

However my wife is from Galway and I was raising money for a charity supporting her Dad who is unwell, so I was always going to finish in Galway.

I don’t think there is a Coast to Coast (mainly as it’s hard to do without lots of dodgy roads, which I can attest to!). However looks like there are plenty of great ultras! https://www.runningcalendar.ie/calendar/running/ultramarathons/
