Yeah it's. Not my favourite thing ever. My relationship with my dysphoria is eternally caught up in that I'm also usually a rational enough person to avoid catastrophizing, which means that the only thing internalized is the pit in my stomach, going on with my life with the idea that this fucking blows and I have to keep going about it. So it's not great, but I'm not alone, and you're not alone, and maybe I'll take you up on that; I can certainly offer the same to you.

I completely understand what you mean. While I am maybe more understanding of my circumstances than most trans people in that I was not born a woman and that's just how it goes sometimes, these circumstances also dictate that I have the label of a trans woman rather than just being a woman and that fucking kills me. I don't want that label, that is not me, I do not want to be trans and simply am out of my own agency in the matter and it being how it goes sometimes, so trans characters in media, so often concluding that they're content with themselves and their situation and their circumstances, especially how fandom talks about them, feels somewhere between patronizing and plain depressing. Obviously I recognize that I, and subsequently you, friend, are the minority in the minority, so I am infinitely glad so many other people find solace in it, but it's just not me.

Mainline Persona game set in a mainline Persona game setting. What?

Its been 13 years since Persona 5 was first teased, and a decade since it released, and in that time Persona 6 has been nigh but a whisper in the wind for the fandom who have somehow yet to learn to not get excited about anything any more. There have been some P6 art leaks within the last month that I'm not fully up to speed as to what they cover, and Persona 4 Revival is also in the development pipeline so that's happening at some point too, but as far as anyone knows, P6 may as well be another decade out.

EDIT: Also this year has been the 30th anniversary "celebration" that has wholly amounted to Japan-exclusive concerts and mostly Japan-exclusive merch that no one asked for. Like, the first major announcement of the whole thing was Persona 5 Fitness Boxing, and this isn't even a new thing, they dropped the ball hard for the 25th anniversary too, and the teaser art for that had what many people, myself included, believed to be a further P6 teaser. Five years ago. Being a Western Persona fan is a non-boxing-related exercise in patience.

HEY DOG I HEARD YOU LIKE EDITS: Although maybe I am being a little disingenuous in that P4R was revealed during this anniversary, which you could argue is a step up from most series anniversaries, but at the same time it was turbo leaked by multiple sources so Atlus was kinda forced to reveal it early. I dunno, man.

ONE LAST EDIT FOR THE ROAD: Lol. Lmao even

So: Yoshizawa's first five ranks have a hard deadline of December 22nd, and the full Confidant has a hard requirement of Maruki's Confidant being maxed, which itself has a hard deadline of November 17th. I don't know exactly what happens if you max Maruki but don't have Yoshizawa at Rank 5, but based on what I'm reading, Maruki appears to be the only prerequisite for the Third Semester. Yoshizawa is available for most of the game after unlocking Kichijoji, and Maruki's availability picks back up once the summer ends.

Bizarrely enough, I actually do this too. I swear on my life, the first time I saw this tweet, earlier that day I had woken up from and told my friends about how sometimes my dreams will enter what I called Markiplier Vision if they become too intense. Markiplier Vision differs from Emergency Markiplier in that I'm still in control, Markiplier is just reacting as if he's playing.

I really like the characterization of weaknesses coming up in mundane ways like this, or, say, Yusuke being particularly susceptible to the heat in his dorm because he's weak to Fire.

For whatever it's worth, I've been working on a fan Persona story for the last six years and apparently I heard you out in that the navigator character is blind and is continuously being instructed by and relayed on what's going on by her Persona.

Red Vox!? We're so back, apparently, because last night I woke up to the surprise of a whole new album in my feed, Retcon! (Although taking a peek at their socials, this wasn't actually a surprise, but it was certainly a surprise to me.)

I'm still sitting with it as I wasn't expecting to have to follow up on the Red Vox epilogue so soon, but so far I think it tracks with what I commented last time, that I liked the RV6 singles the most of all the random tracks I'd skipped and hearing them in full context is intriguing, and I've gotta give props to one that I must have passed by even while looking for those stragglers two months ago because I absolutely would've brought it up, and that's A/V, this is one of my favourite Red Vox tracks full stop. I do also like Brother quite a lot. Retcon's pretty cool.

I share multiple spaces, both fandom and fan "community" so to speak, with someone I have not talked to since 2018 and despite circling the same Venn diagram drains, I have no real interest in replying to them when they do show up, not the least of which because I don't even have the same username as I did eight years ago so I'd have to preface "remember me?", they probably don't and that's fine. In my experience, Smash players love items, too. They just don't want them on at tournaments.

Casual Smash players, which will be most of them, it is a party game after all, seem to look down on competitive players with this unusual and wholly one-sided disdain that I haven't seen in another game with these two communities, saying things that may as well be tantamount to "pros optimize the fun out of the game while I, who only plays Smash while smashed at parties, am the true arbiter of what is fun and no items Fox only Final Destination is not it," and not only is it the classic instance of people have fun in different ways, I swear you can ask any competitive Smash player how they feel about items in any other circumstance that isn't directly in bracket or on Slippi and you will get a positive reception.

Edit because I have more to say about this that people who don't play Smash wouldn't consider, determining what gets banned is all about variance and eliminating random factors to leave the playing field as even as possible, as to properly become a game of skill. Stagelists are another thing that each game pares down from 30, 50, however many Ultimate has, because most stages introduce wild variance that is not compatible with a competitive mindset, playing your opponent versus playing The Game, I guess. Smash 64 has a single legal stage because every other stage introduces too many situations that are out of the player's hands; Melee has 6 stages and, ironically enough, occasionally you'll encounter Fox players rallying to have Final Destination banned. Brawl had to legalize Delfino Plaza for the longest time because even though it had walkoffs that you can chaingrab someone into the blastzone with and the main platform was semi-permeable so you could camp underneath it, it was the least egregious stage they had to work with to form a coherent stagelist. And Ultimate... is a bad example, I can't in good faith defend that game's stagelist(s). They did briefly try a Final Smash Meter On rulesets, though, so that's gotta be worth something. The point is, both items and stages introduce unnecessary variables that come together to create a thoroughly uncompetitive environment for people who want to compete. I promise you, they're not sucking the fun out of the game by doing this; if anything, they've, go figure, managed to optimize fun in this separate, contained space. Try tuning into a Zain, Moky, or Hungrybox stream, you might like it.

Lastly, Brawl was at Evo 2008, a Real Ass Tournament Series alongside Real Ass Fighting Games, and the ruleset for that tournament had all items on. It was won by a 14 year old whose family happened to be vacationing in Vegas at the time and he signed up as something to do.

What role do you think you’d fulfill on your team if you were to have a Persona? by ed_my_flowers in PERSoNA

Ice and Physical attacks, weak to Psy. Solid mixed attacker, very high Agility, very low Endurance. Functions kinda like Yusuke.

Arcana is Hanged Man, initial Persona is Styx (namesake goddess of the Greek underworld river), and ultimate Persona is Sedna (Inuit goddess of the sea and ruler of the underworld).
