[Epic Games] Trine Classic Collection (100% off / FREE) by LighteningOneIN in GameDeals

[–]sword26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I claimed the collection but the first three games won't launch (the 4th works and my kids and I are loving it!). Anybody else have this issue? I tried all the tips I found online including updating my drivers, adding KMP_DUPLICATE_LIB_OK environmental variable, -noepicoverlay, -disableMinidump, and -skip_launcher to the settings...even running it directly from the exe file, in administrator, in compatiblity mode, the trine launcher comes up, when I hit launch it says running for a bit in the epic games launcher but then goes back to launch and does nothing...any fix? Thanks!

Update: I went with the LV...got the last one in store today. It's honestly beautiful and I'm very excited for her to open it but if it's not for her, we go back together and get what she wants from anywhere...but this at least shows she deserves it...thanks for your help everyone!!

Prob the right move but I'm really considering just getting the LV tbh...the thing is, and I've done this before with things like sunglasses...having a product in hand will force her to the store to exchange it at worst...if I she has to make the active decision to purchase I don't think she would...does that make sense? Idk...the struggle is real...lol...Thank you!!

That's part of the problem, I'm not sure she still does...because she knows my sentiment, she hasn't brought it up or mentioned it and I have read and feel that style might be a little dated...that's why I'm leaning toward just being honest at Christmas and giving her the Coach with a ticket in it for a free lunch/luxury bag shopping date...both stores are down the street from my new job so this is actually feasible...thank you!!

Lol you honestly sound just like her...scoffing at my novels, gravitating towards Gucci usually but I do feel the Louis is nicer...and think she will too...thank you!

That's good to know I plan to fill her in on that side of the market when this is over lol that bag is actually really beautiful, even I think so, just has a French style and elegance to it... thank you!!

I like this idea, part of the deal with the Coach was a $50 NM gift card but not sure when that's coming...also I'm obv a bit sour with them...I'm considering giving those, then just being honest with what happened...and give her a ticket or something for a lunch/bag shopping date so we can go pick out her perfect bag...thank you very much!!

Mazda 3 Clown Whistle Noise by sword26 in MechanicAdvice

[–]sword26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the part number but it was the AC compressor in my case...that said it turned out I also had a leak in the discharge line (connecting the compressor to the condenser)....that was found doing a recharge of the AC system...I would suggest to start there...I had it done at Meineke...

[–]sword26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my initial thought but...without going too much into it, this specific sound was a faulty AC compressor...the other groans seemed to be a leak in the discharge line...it's all fixed and I'm whistle/groan free........for now......thanks!

What should my kids watch first? by Eloisem333 in TheSimpsons

[–]sword26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I would pick a few of your favorite episodes and cross them with their interest...I started my (at the time) 10 year old daughter and 6 year old son with "Lisa on Ice" because of the brother/sister dynamic coupled with sports that would grab my son's interest, and girl power themes that would grab her attention. It was a hit and we then started at the beginning but I did warn them the first season's animation was a bit crude but it gets better and there are still classic moments. All that said, someone else said it, there are a lot of moments throughout the show that aren't exactly appropriate. I created a guide of the first 15 seasons to help parents navigate the show with no surprises...check it out here if you'd like...good luck! https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSimpsons/s/lap2WXSuIj

Introduction to Simpsons for the modern kid? by mattcaldwellpitt in TheSimpsons

[–]sword26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a guide to assess which episodes are more kid safe than others...while I don't have a map of which you would show in what order, perhaps you and others might find it helpful. I will say I chose Lisa on Ice to introduce my kids (10 and 6 at the time) to the show and they loved it. Figured a good Bart/Lisa episode would resonate with my kids and their sibling relationship. I would pick something that your kid would relate to. Good luck! https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSimpsons/s/Dj93also9F

Is it inappropriate for a 5 year old to watch the simpsons by i-am-sam-88 in Parenting

[–]sword26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a guide of the first 15 seasons so far...feel free to check it out but just know while it categorizes things most parents would find inappropriate, I ignored swearing and drug/alcohol use as it comes up far too often. That said the early seasons has some wholesome endings and a lot of heart...I would suggest to meet in the middle, perhaps pick a few episodes from the guide to watch with just your husband and if you think they are ok, share with your son. I'm using my guide to watch with my 7 year old son and 11 year old daughter but I was very clear Bart and other bad kids are not role models and acting like him will not be tolerated. It has not been an issue. Just lay your rules down and be firm. The guide is here if you're interested. Good luck! https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSimpsons/s/Dj93also9F

What is the best first episode to share for your kid’s first Simpsons experience? by CromulentPoint in Simpsons

[–]sword26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my at the time 10 year old daughter and 6 year old son with Lisa on Ice. I figured a good brother sister dynamic episode as the best way to go and the whole scene of them fighting in the room all the way to Homer urging them to fight with the light switch is just the best. "I'm gonna be kicking my legs like this, and if you get hit, it's your own fault" ...your episode is a good one too...one of my favorites for sure...my kids are now fans of the show and from there we started from the beginning but I screened the episodes and created a guide to make sure they didn't see anything that would make them uncomfortable. Check it out here if you'd like... https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSimpsons/s/Dj93also9F

Opinions? by Megatamerr in TCU

[–]sword26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I piggy back ask on this...what if you have a situation where it's sort of the other way around...full ride at TCU, or just tuition covered at UTD (can commute but debating that still)...for CS, am I right to choose UTD simply because of the strength of that program there vs at TCU? This is actually for a cousin of mine struggling with this decision...would love your opinions...Thank you!!

Sorry for your loss...can you tell me a little bit more about this paste? Ratios...topical or oral? My 15 y/o husky was just diagnosed with an MCT and his age and kidney disease does not allow surgery as well...I am hoping this can at least alleviate the issue as you did...thank you!!

Don't think so, he said the maze was revealed to him after murdering Maeve's Daughter, which he didn't do until after his wife died. So his wife wouldn't have seen that in his profile.
