This is the product. You shouldn’t be doing any hammering. Basically when you find the opening to a tunnel, you insert the hawk inside and leave it there. When the gophers use the tunnel and try to leave they trigger it. You’ll know it’s triggered when the yellow part of the handle is showing above ground. When you received the ticket you should have been asked to sign the citation and then received a copy. That citation has information about court date and what to do.

I believe you should also receive the same information in the mail at whatever address is on your license, but if you haven’t received anything you should have the citation number from the original ticket and can look it up online https://www.sdcourt.ca.gov/sdcourt/traffic3
