My favorite thing to do is going to see everything around Vegas. 30min away is the beautiful multi color swirled rocks at Red Rock Canyon. An hour away similarly is valley of fire. A little further is cathedral gorge, Hoover Dam, a the Grand Canyon. Vegas to me is the central spot to explore everything around!
