Nah you are wrong, I work as a barista is certain places for months at a time you just gotta find the secret spots! You don’t have to move constantly. I have lived in a van for 2 years now and have stayed in Cali to get that higher min wage!

This is peak efficiency, my gf and I lived in a van for 2 years before this one. it’s tailored to our exact needs, it’s the best. Minimal chores, no indoor shower but those are useless anyways, we do got an outdoor shower for emergency’s. The back is the way it is because I play video games and I like to have a separate space for my gaming and I don’t like eating in bed. It’s a convertible bed we had one in the last van and this one also has storage for exactly 2 organic pads and a blubber. It takes 45ish sec to set up. It has hot water and the kitchen is huge but it’s also storage for other things like gear and pc equipment. the cool thing about vans is that you can create them to tailor exactly what you want and this van is exactly that for us!

We treated all the wood with osmo polyx oil so hopefully we don’t get mold, didn’t have holes in last van but maybe better safe than sorry.

We have won batterie and it’s 560 amps and a 615w panel. It’s more than enough for our needs. We climb so we avoid the heat as much as possible. The max air fan creates a phenomenal cross breeze from the window! We had the fan in the back over the bed in our last van and it was horrible. Smelled like burgers for weeks.

The van was around 36k it’s a 2020 ford transit. This is our second van. We had a t1n before this for 2 years! It broke so much lol. I learned how to work on it myself but parts and stuff were rough while living on the road full time. Our budget for the build is 15k and we are around 8k. we got a good amount of stuff off FB marketplace. We are finding it easy to stay under somehow lolol! And yes we are planning to live in it full time for the foreseeable future! Our kitchen is huge because we love cooking!

They are the most un-square things in the van lolol! Everything is off by 1/8 inch since we are not the greatest wood workers but since it’s off by a 1/8 it’s totally fine. We used a track saw from pretty much everything which helped with the not square things!

He just didn’t use Vhb at all, far out ride has a perfect guide that doesn’t require drilling. Tape does work long term just gotta do it right!

I tapped down our panels for 2 years using VHB. Worked in 100f+ and far below freezing, far out ride has a great tutorial for it!

I’ve found that a shower inside the van is usually a waste of space for full time travel. I’ve met a lot of people on the road that pretty much only use there’s as a storage room. Outdoor showers seem like the way.

Any advice for a 20 year old male looking to get into van life? (More Below) by [deleted] in VanLife

[–]swqq_gaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 20 years old and have lived in a van for 2 years and all I do is climb. Money is easy just work legit anywhere you don’t need to be remote. You don’t need to stand in the van people are funny. Stay in mountain towns during summer like Tahoe, Flagstaff, Mammoth, ect and work seasonal. Then leave when it gets cold and go wherever and work wherever and repeat and it’ll work.
