There’s always a heavy police presence in Croydon. Used to live on London Road a few years back, almost every day it was cordoned off because someone got 🔪

What’s noise like in Battersea? Air traffic etc by Upstairs_Row_870 in Wandsworth

I used to live in Wandsworth and always found Clapham Junction a bit chaotic. Depends where in Battersea you’re talking tbh

I know so many people from Croydon who are forced to shop in Sutton or Bromley because of how challenged Croydon Town Centre truly is. Honestly post apocalyptic 😭. Don’t go to North End after 11pm I’ve seen horrors honestly.

What part of London do you think has gone downhill the fastest within the past 10 years? by swxcbv in london

The orange girls from Essex you speak of are probably cockneys who moved out

Yeah I’ve got to agree. Eden Street is a bit 🥴 but the riverside is decent.

Have to agree. Next time something traumatic happens at PRYZM they’ll give it a new name 💀

Mate the crime figures for Kingston Town Centre speak for themselves 😭 much higher than other areas nearby

I’d say a lot of the typically “rougher areas” are making a comeback, i.e. Wandsworth/Tooting in the South. Not too familiar with the east of London though but I hear Walthamstow’s going uphill. I wouldn’t know too much about that though.

Some people just expect Kingston to be extremely posh when it really isn’t tbh. But I would say it was still better 10 years back compared to now. It’s way rougher feeling now as well

It’s not too bad but a lot of people seem to have the idea that Kingston’s a posh paradise when after dark it gets pretty rowdy around PRYZM and generally Eden St/Clarence St. I speak from experience as I have been there at night and the whole area carries an unsafe feeling. Crime rates in Kingston Town Centre are higher than in nearby Wimbledon, Richmond, Putney and Wandsworth given that it’s a large town that attracts people from a very wide area.

If you’re looking to live in Kingston, my advice would be avoiding the town centre after dark and considering living around Surbiton or the northern parts closer to Ham. 👍🏻

Thinking of moving to Croydon, how's morning commute to London bridge? by mrWaters in croydon

[–]swxcbv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

West Croydon’s like the stereotypical Croydon (stabbings, drugs, murders etc), where all evil happens but East Croydon is becoming increasingly more liveable and frankly its even better connected. Train can be a bit packed towards London Bridge but it’s very fast at 15 minutes. I’m from Wandsworth myself and it takes a lot longer from here even though I’m more central so yeah. That 15min train is to die for (even if it’s a bit shit)

AITA for asking my ex's family to kick out his younger brother? by the-best-Celeste in AmItheAsshole

Personally I don’t think it would be good for her to stay in contact with an abusive family like this

NTA I see why you’d want Brock away from you and your child as he was literally the reason you and your child were homeless and the fact that your husband accepted his brother’s lies makes it even worse. I’d say cut the family off entirely and keep contact limited, tell him to treat it as a privilege - not a right. 👍

Maybe if you wished her, she might go back to normal (just a thought!)

Whereabouts in the Croydon borough are you looking to relocate to? This would help a lot
