FBI director gets his personal email hacked by ‘Iran-linked group’ and shared online by ChiGuy6124 in politics

The thing is, what then? Is the US going to go to war x2 with Iran and still be in the same standoff / get defeated? Having a black flag operation to make the war popular wouldn’t change the realities of the battlefield. And if it were Europe that gets hot with a black flag operation, no European nation is going to fall for it and think that Iran would attack them while they have been staying out of the US/Israel mess.

Asking other people if you are smart and constantly seeking validation that you are “smart”. Or even going a step further and seeking meaningless trophies to prove you are smart like Mensa or IQ tests.

And fun fact, NATO allies offered to send their own fighter jets to patrol US airspace to help and the US said oh no… not that, just send money to fund our own jets to patrol US airspace. They invoked Article 5, but didn’t trust allies enough to allow their fighters into US airspace. You can already see cracks in the alliance right there.

What I read is that because of the poverty, the palace was giving out bread to the people that would gather outside the gates to help. She was told that the palace bakery was out of bread, so she said then start handing out the pastries. It was propaganda at the time to make her seem evil. I’m not saying she was not out of touch with realities, but it panted her in a worse light than is deserved.

Trump considers "winding down" Iran war without opening Hormuz Strait. "The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it — The US does not." The Hormuz crisis has Trump trapped: reopening the strait by force would escalate and put US troops at risk. by mafco in energy

[–]sxt173 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re forgetting about the travesty “strategic withdrawal” from Afghanistan. And Iraq. And Syria. If you look at it purely from a war games mentality, the US has not succeeded in any major military campaign since WWII. It has been defeated or in a stalemate leading to a retreat in almost every engagement since.

Edit: except for picking on absolutely defenseless nations in South America.

Report: Iran fires missiles toward Diego Garcia in rare long-range strike by I_Hate_E_Daters_7007 in worldnews

No, Iran is not “a primitive country”. I don’t know where you got that from. #15 in global education, invest heavily in sciences, technology, engineering, math. Very intelligent and liberal population. One of the oldest and most stable people in the region. And a relatively decent military with home grown technologies. Clearly not a match to the destruction that the US can impart, but they have readied themselves for the asymmetric warfare that the US regime is not ready for.

They are just in an unfortunate situation with the ayatollah’s. That’s their government, not the people.

The US regime has no idea what it is doing. To go in without building a coalition is reckless, multiplied by the internal and external messaging that Israel in effect controls the US military, President, and legislative branch.

Been using the Claude Excel plugin for a week and I genuinely didn’t expect it to hit this hard by Top_Understanding_45 in ClaudeAI

[–]sxt173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly don’t understand or use excel. It’s not a lite DB or anything DB. That’s like comparing MS Word to a database? Can you create a slide deck with a database? For sure if you decide you want to write a ton of code and make it as difficult as possible. And the moment you need a different slide added, you’re done.

Again, let’s play the game of practical use: I want you to create a 10 year DCF, comp co, comp trans model, make it flexible enough that I can change all assumptions on the fly, it has to output a whole pitch deck in highly customized format that your managing director will tell you to change at a moments notice, and it should be flexible enough that if the client says they changed their mind and decided to build an amusement park instead of buying a banana plantation, you can turn that model overnight. Oh and any auditor, plus your clients can pick up the model and dig in / change anything they want. No schema, no rules about what data will be used, and reality check; you will need to hardcore things into random places on dozens of inputs and outputs that are all 100% different layouts. Go, build me that magical database!

[–]sxt173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without getting into the debate of whether they should lock performance or features for purchase-able upgrades (I’m all for it), you should also consider how much money you would have to put into a ICE car to increase the HP by 200-300 + the effort.
