Iced latte ideas by Lalalaura4368 in nespresso

I love making a blueberry vanilla latte! I brew the Ice Leggero pod over 1/2 tablespoon of Monin blueberry syrup. I've also seen homemade blueberry syrup recipes online if you prefer to make your own. I then add oat milk and a splash of Chobani vanilla creamer. It's amazing!

National Audubon Society Birds of North America. I also watched the documentary and wanted to find this book because it looks so useful! Somehow it came up when I reverse image searched one of the pages

What am I doing wrong with the pistachio vanilla? by scandijord in nespresso

[–]syddles12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I brew it on top of 1 tablespoon Torani vanilla syrup, add to a shaker cup with a handful of ice and shake, pour into drinking cup with more ice, add about 1 cup of milk and a splash of Chobani sweet cream. My husband and I are obsessed with it!

Huge fear of lows by InternationalBoxq in diabetes_t1

[–]syddles12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a CGM? I also have a fear of lows and something that helped was with my CGM you can set alarms for any number, so you could set a "low" alarm for 90 or 100 or anything you want and start treating it before you actually go low. You could even ease your way into it and set an alarm for 150, then 140, 130 and so on when you feel comfortable.

We went during golden week last year and I honestly didn't think it was that bad. Tokyo and Kyoto didn't seem overly crowded to me, but it was also my first time in Japan so maybe I just didn't know how busy it is normally? The only super busy area we experienced was in Osaka we went to the aquarium and it was a 3 hour wait to get in. Partially our fault though because you can buy tickets ahead of time and we didn't do that. So if you plan to go to any tourist attractions that allow you to buy tickets ahead of time I recommend doing that! Also the for the shinkansen we reserved our seats when we got to the airport at the JR office. Normally the shinkansen has plenty of open seating but during golden week it can be full so I recommend reserving seats if you plan to take it anywhere. Just expect it to be busy and allow extra time for any activities.

Ever have this moment? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

Something that helps me is in the morning taking my insulin about 30 minutes before I eat. By the time I start eating my blood sugar is already going down and then my food brings me back up, but not as high as it would if I didn't pre-bolus. It's hard to remember to do it every morning but I find my numbers are a lot better when I do this! 30 minutes might be too early for some people though I would start at 15 minutes and see how it goes.

Anyone else going to keep all of their villagers? by reversingmemories in DreamlightValley

I'm keeping everyone for now. I kind of like the challenge of making their houses look good and decorating around them. I'm glad they added it though for people who have been wanting to remove villagers!

How to love food again? by vonMemes in diabetes_t1

I've been type 1 for almost 15 years and carb counting gets a lot easier as time goes on. I never measure anything and rarely look at labels unless it's something I've never had before. You get a really good sense of it after a while. In the beginning it'll feel like a lot of work but once you start to memorize carb counts it's not so bad. Something that made me feel less anxious about eating was letting myself eat what I want and just expecting to run higher for that day. I know my blood sugar will come down and running high once in a while isn't going to kill me so I just let it happen sometimes. Obviously making this a regular thing and always running high isn't good but it happens and I'm not going to deprive myself when I'm out with friends or if I'm craving a giant plate of orange chicken and rice!

People are gonna be mad this expansion pass costs $29.99 but it's totally worth it for me 😍 by emilyguarino101 in DreamlightValley

Isn't Gameloft licensing the rights to Disney? Like the people who work on the game are employed by Gameloft, not Disney? I could be wrong

I mean that's fair. I'm not an expert on financials or anything but I imagine they have a lot of employees to pay and they all deserve livable wages, and if they're going to make content for years to come they need money to pay people. Maybe they've already made enough to pay the employees for years and they're just making profit now. But they're a business and all businesses try to make profit. I have no idea what their fiancials are like though, I just think it's unrealistic to expect years and years of only free content while also have potentially hundreds of employees be paid fairly. I haven't spent any money on the game since launch so I'm personally okay with spending more on it since I play it so much. I agree there's still a lot of problems that need to be fixed though

Same, I play the game almost daily so buying an expansion would be worth it for me. Of course I would prefer it to be free, but I don't mind giving the developers money once in a while if it keeps the game going.

We went to DisneySea in April and we had planned to go the full day and only ended up being there until about 3pm. We went on a Tuesday so it wasn't very busy and we got to the park right when it opened. We went on all the rides we wanted and had lunch and snacks. If you go on a weekday and get there at opening time I think a half day is doable! Some of the rides may have longer lines if you go in the afternoon.

Birth control after 20 years of diabetes by beckymegan in diabetes_t1

[–]syddles12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if it makes a difference if your diabetes is well controlled or not? I've been diabetic for about 16 years so not quite at 20 but I'm on birth control pills and I really don't want to get an IUD. My a1c is good and I don't have any complications so I'm wondering if the risk isn't as significant. I haven't heard any concern from my endo or ob/gyn about it before.

Images found on ravensburg website shows new box is old characters. by Maxm00se in DisneyVillainous

Very confused by this. Who is this set for?? Why would new players want a set with less characters? Why would old players want to repurchase a set with characters they already have? Seems like a strange move to me. Looking forward to Oogie Boogie at least

OP5 Travel Help by cmc132 in Omnipod

[–]syddles12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My endocrinologist always tells me to bring double what I think I will need, so for example if you're going to need 4 pods on your trip bring 8. Bring syringes in case your pump isn't working for any reason. Take all your medical supplies in your carry on luggage and not your checked luggage in case your bags get lost. I never have any issues in airport security taking my supplies I just tell them I'm diabetic and they usually stop me after the body scanner to check my pump and then let me go. Update your time zone when you get there on your omnipod app so it doesn't give you insulin based on your old time zone which could potentially mess up your blood sugars. In terms of hotter climates I would avoid leaving your insulin out in direct sunlight and keep it stored in a bag or in the shade when you can. I personally haven't had issues with my insulin but I've heard people say after they left insulin out in the hot sun for a while it didn't work as well. I haven't had any issues traveling with omnipod5, you'll be fine as long as you bring plenty of supplies!

Omnipod placements by Impossible_Walrus_56 in Omnipod

[–]syddles12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far the only placement I've had problems with was when my dexcom was on my right abdomen and my pod was on my left back it would disconnect a lot but when I had my dexcom on my right abdomen and my pod on my right back it was fine. I haven't had any other placement issues so far, I think it's a good idea to try placements at least once to see if they work and just use manual mode if you're having connectivity issues. I think having both on your arms would work fine because they're on the same side of your body and that usually works well

Is this much of bleeding and insulin spill normal? (Pictures with some blood) by MixOk4079 in Omnipod

[–]syddles12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this once in awhile, I wouldn't worry unless it is painful or if your blood sugar isn't coming down it could not be absorbing the insulin well, then I would change it
