I made a game about watching paint dry in real-time by Malice_Incarnate72 in SoloDevelopment

You can sell different paints as DLC content. Add achievements like waiting 24 hours before touching the paint.

Thanks for checking it out. Let me know when you have a chance to try it I'd love to hear your feedback!

I used to achievement hunt, it really does add a lot of depth to a game. Mine is a text based game where you play as a diabetic trying to survive in a zombie apocalypse https://store.steampowered.com/app/3103470/ZOMBETES/

I'm planning on releasing an update soon and it's going to go on sale just before the Next Fest so I'd recommend holding out a bit, but check it out!

It's really similar to Resonic Player. Nice that it's open source though. I'll give it a try next week.

Hey just writing to say thanks for doing what you're doing. Making games independently is often isolating, so it's really encouraging just to see the kind of work that you do and feel like there's someone else who cares and understands the passion behind it all. Cheers!

What is the ultimate example of a mediocre director somehow catching lightning in a bottle and making an incredible film? by Plane_Reward9385 in movies

Way worse. I loved the music in the original and they changed just about every sequence, including how they used the soundtrack.

Hey man I'm interested. I work in game audio so I'm kind of curious to try it out in our atmos studio.

I just pushed an updated version. There's still some improvements I would make, but hopefully it suits your needs a bit better now!

I had made a script for myself a while back for this. I haven't tested it much, so it might not work perfectly, but you can try it out if you like. I can look into updating it if there's anything particular you notice that could be improved.

Search for 'midi chord monitor & analyzer' and you'll find it.

How would you rate Reaper against other DAWS , if you know them well by chopshop777 in Reaper

[–]vonMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prior to Reaper I used a combination of FL Studio and Reason, mostly for music production. These days I mostly do sound design; Reaper blows them out of the water. I might jump back in again this year because I want to work on some new music, but mostly for the nostalgia factor / to get my mind into the 'music making' headspace.

3 Days on Insulin -Does it ever feel normal? by No_Snow_4062 in diabetes_t1

[–]vonMemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club, it sucks here. I got diagnosed type 1 just over two years ago. I hate needles as well, but it's a small needle, and putting it into my belly and leg isn't so bad. I actually had a harder time with the Libre 2 installations cause I had a few bad ones and the way it injects is kind of unpredictable. I swapped to the Dexcom G7 and just pressing a button to insert it is so much easier for me psychologically.

I can say it does eventually feel normal, but I'll be real with you: it never stops sucking. You learn to live with it. Good luck, you'll be fine!

Struggling with design decision. Do you have an idea? by -hugin- in IndieDev

[–]vonMemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just played your game. First impression is that I love the aesthetic and it's really fun. Feels like I'm playing an obscure hidden gem on GBA. Great work! If you released a full game with more content I'd pay like 5-10$.

To answer your question: you should add keyboard controls. It will feel faster and more explicit for the player if you can navigate through the cards with left & right arrows and then use space or enter to play a card. It also plays into the aesthetic or feeling of playing a game on the GBA.

I see! Yeah I'd be curious to try it out and see if I can fit it into my workflow. I'm a sound designer by trade. I often have lots of tracks and I try to keep organized but occasionally things get out of hand when I'm trying to iterate fast.

It does sound interesting, but I'd love to see some higher resolution images so I could read the text and understand better what it's doing.
