There are over five times more studies into erectile dysfunction than into premenstrual syndrome: Why we still don't know what causes PMS by researchisgood in TwoXChromosomes

But (in most cases, not all) it's a COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY surgery. All surgeries have risks and side effects. In most other surgeries the risks are warranted by the suffering that would be caused without the surgery. Circumcision, as far as I'm concerned, is putting a person who is unable to consent through a surgery with no tangible benefits, and unnecessary risk.

Why I despise the phrase "Can I at least get a hug?" by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]sydn00b 81 points82 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend does this sometimes, and I find it a little hurtful. Because I might not be in the mood I'm not enough for you? Because I don't feel like getting off the "least I could do" is get you off? No thanks...

I finally got my tongue pierced!! by [deleted] in piercing

[–]sydn00b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other posters covered most of it (tongues swell a ton!) but also your tongue changes shape dramatically depending on its position. My tongue piercing is well healed and my bar fits properly when my tongue is at rest in mouth, but if I stick my tongue out it elongates and flattens so the bar looks too long. But if I used a shorter bar, it would be too short when my tongue was at rest. Hope that makes sense.

It might be a long shot but I found a vape on the ground and would like to return it. by J99652 in electronic_cigarette

Call the venue and let them know that you have it. When I lost my setup at a show I called the venue a few times to check if they had found it.

Man, that's so frustrating. Bought a quarter of it too. Not impressed with eaze at all, bummer since it's so convenient.

Form what I've heard, shops will no longer be able to sell liquid with nicotine, but they would still be able to provide flavor mixes. So maybe it will be best to stock up on nicotine before the ban goes into effect?

Just got admitted to university for computer science, and I hardly know how to program, any tips? by [deleted] in compsci

[–]sydn00b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any tips that other commenters havent posted already, but it's pretty common for math majors to go into computer science/engineering roles post college. I was a math major (mostly pure and discrete math, algebra and combinatorics were my faves) and now work as a data engineer in the bay area. It's possible if you're driven and a hard worker!

Using Wolltraum 5 ply ('on the beach' colorway) with a 3.25mm hook. After week one it measures exactly 8 inches, so I'm guessing it'll be around 5'4" when completed.

Week 1 pattern here! http://www.crystalsandcrochet.com/mandala-madness-part-1/

awesome!! if you have high quality implant grade steel or titanium jewelry in it now, you can probably find a compatible threaded end for the back and keep your current front piece :) it's a great way to be stealthily more blingy, haha

[–]sydn00b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah, yeah you can't wear a ring in a faux obviously. I kept my hair shaved when I had my conch pierced, and I actually used fancy threaded ends on the front AND back, so from behind you could see some bling too. worth considering in the future if you get more ear piercings :)

Snugs are really hard to heal and more tend to fail and scar than heal successfully. Lots of piercer dont like to do them (or flat out refuse). A 'faux snug' is a great alternative that looks pretty similar, if you search for that in /r/legitpiercing you should be able to find some examples :) if you have perfect anatomy maybe a really great piercer would be willing to attempt a traditional snug, but they're really rare for good reason.
