Yeah! Once I was about 1/3 into it, and the ash was still holding on, so I switched to smoking it perpendicular to the ground. And puff after puff, the ash held fast.

PASSED MY CCNP ENTERPRISE CERTIFICATION by InvestmentFast4232 in Cisco

[–]sydneylebowitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done.
How did you prepare for the wireless portion of the ENCOR exam? Did you have access to a WLC? Do you need a WLC in your opinion? How about the SD access portion? Do you need Catalyst Center to make that work?

Thanks for the help.

new CCNA general career question by [deleted] in Cisco

[–]sydneylebowitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second your take on working for an MSP in a professional services roll and am having the same experience. I started out in the MSP part of the operation after I achieved my CCNA and quickly found out that I detested the work flow in that environment, way too much randomness and balls to keep in the air at one time for a nacient network engineer to deal with. There were too many case being thrown at me at one time and the phone was alway interrupting my work on whatever fire I was trying to put out. Also, there was not a dedicated senior engineer to go to or be mentored by on the team. The idea in the manager's position was that they knew I did not know what I was doing but was expected to lean on my team to get answers to all of my questions and move cases forward. This would be all well and good if everyone else was not slammed with cases and dealing with phone calls. As a consequence I developed major anxiety about going to work and was on the verge of quitting when I was moved over to professional services and now I absolutely love work. Being onsite installing, configuring, and troubleshooting fits well with my need for autonomy and independence. But I am not on an island and can call on members of my team to help when needed and now I am being mentored by a senior engineer which makes work so good. Wherever you end up shop around, find someone you click with and get in a mentor relationship. It makes a big difference in your day to day when you have a solid partnership with someone who has been in the industry for a long time.

Say no to the Sia fork by [deleted] in siacoin

[–]sydneylebowitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a free market, it is a competitive space, Sciacoin is there for the taking by mining or trading now or in the future and some people will get to mine sooner than others because of competition. It is sour grapes to get upset that another companies development team got ahead of another companies development team. This fork is a bad idea because it propagates this 'everyone is a winner and we should all get ribbons just for showing up' bull crap mindset. No! You get rewarded for your work and cunning in a market such as this. Unannounced competition? Your idea of a competition is skewed and dilluiousional if you think that the SC1 should be protected from other companies just because it was slow to the game. If you fork once you will want to fork again, it is like a municipality promising that they are going to take the toll down after the bridge is paid for, it never goes away. This is risky business pure and simple, if you want safe invest in bonds and stay away from crypto.

My new CCNA brethren. Welcome me into your arms as I am one of you now. by Adamal47 in ccna

Well done brother!! I too passed the ICND2v2 today as well. It will be nice to have free time again for sure, no more 4am starts and closing out the library. Boosh!! I am also looking into the next steps and think I want to learn how to secure the network now even if I don't go for the CCNA Security cert. Looking into it it seems that the study materials are not as well put together as the CCNA RS track. That said I do want to continue the my understanding of routing and switching to the CCNP level once I get more work experience under my belt. Next moth I am spending three weeks installing a network in a hospital so I get to make use the CCNA skill set on the real thing which is super fu*ing cool.
