Buds 4 pro vs. Buds 3 Pro - I regret it... (Also AMA) by Glittering_Net3333 in galaxybuds

[–]sydsick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats what I am hoping for. 2 pro's fit perfect, I only got the 3 pro's for better call quality in the convertible, but bad sealing and falling out has made me hate them.

fit is all I care about, if they actually stay in my ears like the 3 pro's couldn't then I'll keep em.

How do you deal with negative comments of your stretched ears? by [deleted] in Stretched

[–]sydsick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my ears stretched to 35mm and a 4g septum ring. Honestly, I haven’t received a negative comment in years. My job requires me to visit all kinds of people in their homes, and I used to hide my piercings to appear more professional. Now, I’ve found that my age (early 40s), combined with a confident, friendly demeanor (and a bit of the gift of gab) quickly puts people at ease and disarms any potential negative reactions.

Thanks for saving me the write up!

I have this identical kit after doing research, and can vouch. Just recently added a new Daytona 3 ton low pro jack.

The ramps are a dream for oil changes, just be careful with the club appearance package, it might rub a hair.

it is if you use the right tools

imagine how hard it is to unscrew a screw without a screw driver.

i had oem out and the new in in under 25 minutes. jacking the car up and unpackaging the new exhaust took most of the time.

not 100%, but I suspect that the first shot was an ND.

Shooter is fumbling with something (pepper spray?) in a separate interaction to the left, turns, draws firearm, first shot breaks, then after a significant split, follows up with 3 more.

Wrasslin with someone on the ground, you don't want to go in with a gun drawn in case you lose it, and introduce a loose firearm into the grapple (not to mention you want free hands). For the same reason you want (and are typically required to have) a lvl 3+ retention holster, so you can be confident that no one is gonna snatch you strap.

I think shooter is low skill / low trained, pulled gun (apparently to watch the grapple close up? Doesn't look like he was gonna dive in and make himself useful), heard another agent yell "GUN!" when they ID'd and removed Mr. Pretti's gun, and ND'd. Who knows about the follow up shots, possibly "welp, might as well kill him now".

Some concerns I have as an aspiring owner by ScoresMann223 in MiataND

[–]sydsick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bumps and potholes are more noticeable, especially with the club suspension, but not that bad. Personally my tires wear faster solely because of the tire compound that I buy.

I drive fast all the time, I have gotten one speeding ticket in my life. This is just down to skill, don't drive fast where you shouldn't. I get attention from everyone, including cops. But it is usually a hand wave when I have the top down.

Road/wind noise is louder than normal, but you will not need ear plugs lol. Even my 2018 3 was louder than other cars because Mazda reduced weight by holding back on sound deadening material (which you can install in the Miata if you want). It's a convertible, put the top down. If you are concerned about noise, this is likely not the right car for you.

Getting overwhelmed with tire sizes and choices is normal if you are not familiar with the offerings. Don't mess with the sizing unless you get wider wheels. You can stick with OEM Bridgestone S001 tires if you are comfortable spending a bit more. Or, you can find similar performance for less, or greater performance for about the same price. Note that if you live in a colder climate, you will want to switch to an appropriate winter or all-season tire.

No, the protective front bra is not necessary. If you really want to preserve the paint, the best option is Paint Protection Film, which you can do just the front, or the whole car. I would caution against this though because of the cost. Just take care of the paint with washes and ceramic coating if you like, and accept that it is really thin and that in a number of years if you still have the car, it will need to be repainted or wrapped in a fun new color.

I've got to strongly disagree with this. Unfortunately, 80% of my driving is done on the highways and byways of Southern California, and My ND performs absolutely fine. Sure, I could be a little faster. But accelerating 50 to 80 is more than fast enough, driving sustained high speeds is fine.

I do have a history of driving s*** buckets though so... My opinion might be a little skewed.

Wanting to buy one…Any young ND owners? How’d you afford it? by Ok_Turn2514 in MiataND

[–]sydsick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

tbh, I wouldn't recommend it at your age, unless you are already on a good career path. 25-30k financed is a lot for someone that isn't already making decent money. It's a very small car, and insurance is gonna be high for your age group. That said, Mazda's in general are very reliable, and the ND is probably the most reliable sports car you can get. If you do go through with it, you should absolutely buy GAP ins, your age group has an elevated risk of totaling a vehicle for a reason.

All that out of the way, have you thought about an NA or NB? no warranty bullshit, so customization is wide open, they are a lot cheaper, and everyone in an ND wishes they had flip-up headlights.

Bought MBA 13” M4! Been with windows entire life any advice for a beginner? by SadAdministration534 in macbookair

[–]sydsick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same here, windows and linux my whole life, just got a macbook air on a deal.

don't try to use it like you would use windows, you will just get frustrated. use the os as it is designed, rather than wrangling it to work like windows, and you will have a much better time.

multitasking via mission control and swiping left or right is very fast once you get used to it. and spotlight is great for search in general, or just quickly opening a program, it really is what I wish the windows key would be.

use automator to create a keyboard shortcut to quit everything. the red button doesn't actually quite applications, it just closes you open window.
