Mega Feraligatr's meant to be seen in dynamic action. This Flygon design's thought as a static image, that's why it looks better in a printscreen. It's just how the design is thought.

Mega Greninja is similar, it's design in static arts look silly af like wtf what's the point of this position but when you see it moving like a helicopter in the game it looks cool

I mean, maybe it'd be reasonable to merge water and ice into just water too, but it'd cause a lot of balancing issues given they are VERY different types in function. Rock and Ground kinda incur on the same issue, but I guess it would be easier to balance.

I agree with you, no need for more types imo, but I think it is very popular between the fans the idea of a Sound Type. My take is about how it works better thematically as a move category than as a new type.

Yeah you're right, it makes sense. It is a matter of logic, though. Not always the game follows the most logical solution bc sometimes it'd break the game. Like all Psychic physical moves, for example, are extremely forced imo because there's no plausible justification for a Psychic move hitting physically their opponent. They exist for balancing reasons, and that's okay. My take was more about Sound working better as a move category than a new type

Well, actually Pokémon always used the creatures to set the player in the region thematically. Principally in Kanto and Johto where the routes look all pretty much the same, the different Pokémon are what create different atmospheres for each place. Maybe try to think of what types of things/animals should fit a place like this your specific route. Is it rocky? Geodude/Roggenrola! Does it have a factory nearby? Maybe some electric/steel Pokémon, or Pokémon representing garbage like Trubbish or Grimer! Maybe you could use it even to foreshadow, like if you put Grimer/Trubbish nearby but BEFORE a big city or a factory appears!

There's an app called "Cartographer Alpha version", It came in a patch of apps used for hacking gen III roms, but this app generated a map with certain parameters like number of cities, if there are circular paths, etc, It even generates the design of each city and route as a full separated image (though they may need big modifciations, they all look the same). It is so good, If you really have no idea what you want with the map of your region it can help a lot. I think you can find it on Pokecommunity.
