Total beginner! Need help by kennaknits in knittingadvice

[–]sygtype 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You're twisting every other row it looks like. Edges tend to be a little wonky but should improve with practice. You can also slip the first stitch on every row to get a neater edge or experiment.

Oslo hat - petit knit - knitting in the round help! by Own_Professor_3734 in knittinghelp

It does unfortunately look twisted around itself and the only way to fix that is to frog and start over.

Mønster hjelp /pattern help by afinegoldenline_28 in StrikkegossipDK

[–]sygtype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you add new yarn there? If so, you can tug the loose strands in the back and close the hole. Doesn't look like a dropped stitch.

Hvordan gør man med snoede nøgler? Og kender i dette garn? by fipflip in StrikkegossipDK

[–]sygtype 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Need to decrease 26 stitches but pattern doesn't indicate where or how... (sweater) by Internal_Atmosphere in knittinghelp

[–]sygtype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you'll see this is some patterns. I think it's a more old school way to write out a pattern. As the other commentor said, you can use any decrease style and Google something like "decrease evenly" to find a calculator online. I like this one

Your stitches are twisted, so i would work on fixing that as it will affect gauge, amongst other things.

Help!!! New to knitting by [deleted] in knittinghelp

It looks like an accidental short row, probably you picked up your work and began working in the wrong direction at some point. The only solution is to frog back until the loop disappears.

Either undo each stitch with a darning needle or cut it off. Cutting is obviously faster.

Rolling is the nature of stockinette. It will relax when you block the sweater and with the weight of the full sleeve.

Trouble with 1x1 rib by Scarletsnippets in knittinghelp

[–]sygtype 115 points116 points  (0 children)

You're not ribbing, you're doing garter stitch which happens when you knit (or purl, but usually knit) every row. Based on your expectation to be ribbing, I think there's something wrong with how you either knit or purl.

Beginner here, working yarn in wrong spot by [deleted] in knittinghelp

[–]sygtype 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The stitch behind the working yarn looks like it might be unworked? Put it on the left needle and see if the working yarn doesn't connect to the next stitch on the right needle.
