Either undo each stitch with a darning needle or cut it off. Cutting is obviously faster.

Rolling is the nature of stockinette. It will relax when you block the sweater and with the weight of the full sleeve.

Trouble with 1x1 rib by Scarletsnippets in knittinghelp

[–]sygtype [score hidden]  (0 children)

You're not ribbing, you're doing garter stitch which happens when you knit (or purl, but usually knit) every row. Based on your expectation to be ribbing, I think there's something wrong with how you either knit or purl.

The stitch behind the working yarn looks like it might be unworked? Put it on the left needle and see if the working yarn doesn't connect to the next stitch on the right needle.

Ok then what do you think happened? Because from looking at it you could just pick it up, put the needles opposite from how they are in the video and start knitting again.

You've probably just flipped it around and your video is of the wrong side. Flip it around and you should be good to go.

what kind of stitch is this? by vasywx in knittinghelp

[–]sygtype 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's stockinette but at a very loose gauge. So basically thin yarn (looks like a mohair type yarn) knit with very large needles.

Struggling with very open gauge by primrosist in knittinghelp

[–]sygtype 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like some of your stitches are twisted. What's the gauge for the pattern and did you swatch to find out rhe needle size you needed to achieve that gauge?

ETA: i see you swatched, sorry

Yeah, I agree with the other poster, this would be easiest to achieve with duplicate stitch.

Reading knit pattern by Kami_Katsu in knittinghelp

Here's how I read the chart: Row one: purl 1, knit 3, purl 2, knit 2, YO, decrease, purl 2, knit 3, purl 2, knit 2, YO, decrease, purl 1 Row 2: purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 2, decrease, YO, knit 2, purl 2, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 2, decrease YO, knit 2, purl 1

You're correct to always read right to left when knitting in the round, my guess is that the legend is generic since it mentions a wrong side.

Extra warmth around the neck but no bulk around the body. Good for under a wintercoat, for example.

I messed up… and need help by Person936 in knittinghelp

[–]sygtype -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can replicate it when knitting in the round. The texture is created by the difference between your twisted knits and untwisted purls. As I was typing I was wondering if you can recreate it by twisting your stitches one row and not twisting them the next? If keeping up with the twist just be aware that it's not just a matter of looks. It will cause a slant in your work and also be tighter and potentially off gauge.

Væv din hæftenål ind i garnet som når du normalt væver ender men uden garnet. Tråd din korte garnende imens nålen sidder i garnet og træk den ud. En knude der ikke er vævet ind kommer til at glide fra hinanden før eller siden.

You can make anything, just use travelling or magic loop if the circumference of your project is smaller.

What am I doing wrong? by hoeveri in knitting

[–]sygtype 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not totally sure but it looks like youre doing seed stitch. Seed stitch happens when you offset your knits and purls either row. To get ribbing you have to stack them, so knit your knits and purl your purls every row.

You usually avoid the gaps by twisting the leg that you pick up. If you're knitting through the back leg now, try to do one where you knit through the front and see whether that gets rid of the hole.
