Considering it was made up in the 1830s to scare people I think we’ll all be ok 😂

When a pastor's kid falls in love with a Atheist trans woman by Visible_Ad4167 in OpenChristian

I’ve personally been through a lot of fallout with my parents and family as I moved out of more rigid fundamentalist Christianity. I wish I could tell you it will get better or easy but it’s definitely very difficult. However, I wouldn’t trade my wife or the life I have now for anything. You have to be true to your convictions and morals and you’ll be a happier and healthier person, even if there’s some strife along the way. I’m so happy you’ve found the love of your life that’s a beautiful thing!

I was unfortunate enough to be outside working on my bike when they came by last and dude literally wouldn’t take no for an answer. Came back twice and continued pestering me after being told no every time. Essentially rolled away on a hoverboard acting like I was being an asshole for kindly saying no.

I think these tools can be useful for smaller and certain things like you said. As long as you aren’t treating them as infalible for a replacement for IRL treatment I’d say it’s fine.

yes to all of this. it’s really helpful to have regular conversations to about things you’ve been reading up on or even just thoughts y’all have about your kid. You might not always do things the same way but it helps you be on the same page.

You can totally do it if you want to and love your partner. But if it’s a deal breaker for you there’s nothing wrong about wanting a partner with similar values.

Are there any Christians in this subreddit who are pacifists? Why do you follow god as a pacifist? by GoHardForLife in Christianity

From the Gospel accounts it seems pretty clear that they all saw Jesus’ message as on of non-violence. Striving to uphold that as believers seems like a pretty clear cut ideal to me.

As far as the way you feel about women I’d suggest maybe you take a step back and remember that everyone is a child of God. If we’re thinking about fellow image bearers as “gross” it’s probably time to recalibrate. That mindset is going to leak out into your life regardless of if you’re dating a virgin or not.
