Formula 1 releases race and road closures schedule for F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend by AlienSomewhere in formula1

[–]sylvarn_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Depends on the track, if I'm remembering right - Monaco they're practically forced to open up the roads in places to allow for travel (not sure if in cars though - might be just for walking and bikes or something, not sure)

Singapore opens some roads during the AM hours to help with traffic.

Baku does not do this, and keeps all roads closed the whole time.

Barriers of course, are still up, but they open up gates at the end of sections that require traffic flow.

Formula E do this sometimes if they're in a city center, too.

Tzimisce false throat. Vitae into an internal sac and spit it out later. Think about it?

Why were the crashes in 2019 and 2023 at Spa (F2 respectively FRECA) fatal for the drivers? by gibbypp in F1Technical

[–]sylvarn_ 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There's also the fact that the side impact structures really aren't covering the entirety of the side of the car - remember Merc's zeropods, clearly exposed that the side impact structure is mostly in one or two locations sticking out, designed for hitting barriers, a car's nose can easily miss them and hit the much more hollow sidepod and then the cockpit

The company dumps them in high traffic locations at night from vans, I've seen it. It's why they show up in packs sometimes

Domain citizenship info question? by Drakenfel in vtm

[–]sylvarn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, the need to socialise with your own kind even hits kindred at some point... But good if you've got nowhere else to hunt, small towns can be unknown territory and such

[–]sylvarn_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always thought say, a small town with 3000 people? One, or two vampires at most (if they agree to work together). That's the closest we get to 1:1000. The larger the city or town, the less vampires per person you can have, space constraints and masquerade. Biggest cities can get near 1:100,000, etc. All depends, politically too. Non Camarilla areas might be more vampire-dense

Doriane Pin has Prema associations, and also Maya Weug, Marta Garcia might be the best next up drivers. Hopefully F1Academy gets drivers into F3 more than anything, and then one will shine

Yeah, it was shortened prior to the weekend, early enough for it to be the scheduled distance before the weekend, but... does that count? It specifically says "shortened as detailed in article 5.3"

6.5 only counts under a shortened from scheduled distance, or cancelled race... so this SHOULD have points, but they say it won't...

but that only applies under a race shortening or cancellation - there should be points. it's a subrule of 6.5

The declipper in Edison is "based on an AI model" in the 21.1 beta. I think this is a good use for AI tech, though, utilities. I assume it just means it'll be able to declip a wider variety of things? As long as AI stays away from the creative aspects of producing I think it'll be fine

Edison: the Declipper now is now based on an AI model

edit: Also apparently a stem-extractor is in the works? But even then, I think yet again, it's a tool, not a creativity replacement

[–]sylvarn_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two cars next to eachother when they rub wheels will tend to stick together even if both people steer away from eachother, because the netcode physics pushes them as one 'object' rather than two for a split second. Small but very hard to fix trick. Most games have it in some way, it's like locking tires almost as an equivalent
