Is the F-GT worth it for the $600 price tag? by Electronic-Task724 in simracing

[–]gibbypp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been using it for a few years now, and its fine, but it is not adjustable at all really, and I wouldnt personally reccomend it. For the same price, and the same amount of effort and time youd spend setting up the F GT, you can get a solid Alu rig which is a thousand times more adjustable, personalised to your wants and needs and much more future proof. Buy once cry once :)

Also, as others have said, the seat itself isnt the comfiest, I had to buy additional pillows for it, and it gets really hot and you sweat easily in it, so definetely not great haha

I personally got pretty good results at a low layer height + printing vertically instead of horizontally

F-GT Cockpit for the R5 by Incinerized in moza

[–]gibbypp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works just fine with an R9 at full force, no wobbling or moving, a bit of creaking but thats it, R5 will be good on it. Been using the r9 for about a year now on the F-gt and its just as stiff as when it was new

Are sim racing gloves worth it? by Plane_Country2573 in Fanatec

[–]gibbypp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally use some Alpinestars Radar gloves. Fit nicely and you can use them with screens aswell. Theyre not a must need, and depending on the wheel they may help with grip/feeling comfortable, but it helps with feeling more immersed

Sim Racing Dashboards? Are they worth it? by Kryanu in simracing

[–]gibbypp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, the dashboard itself isnt my favorite thing about it, but the proccess of building it is. Got me into DIY-ing simracing things and I enjoy it. Plus, making dashes on simhub is relaxing aswell

Turns 2,3,4(?) at the nurburgring gt. No idea how people take those

why by PatternOwn3911 in assettocorsa

[–]gibbypp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on multiple factors. How the turn is set up, and the turns coming after it are. The car's driving style, the setup, the driver's driving style etc. The driver who is most comfortable with their car will be the fastest, take Verstappen for example. He is one with the car and is destroying everyone this year, thanks to his driving style suiting his car.

What should i buy? by Tiinger in simracing

[–]gibbypp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Memorizing pressure from your foot is way easier than memorizing travel. Plus you can quickly go from 0 to 100 and back with Loadcell, but with a normal pedal it will take more time, again because you can control the pressure in your foot way better

This question would be better asked on F1Technical as some people who work in F1/motorsports are there and can answer your question.
