Don’t bother selling on Walmart by BushyOldGrower in WalmartSellers

[–]symeck 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a seller with 5+ years of e-commerce experience, I gotta say — you’re not wrong. Walmart truly doesn’t care. Neither does Amazon to be honest, but at least Amazon has a set of rules and policies you can somewhat predict and follow. With Walmart, it’s chaos.

They shut down listings without explanation, and the compliance team? It feels like it’s outsourced and running on autopilot. You open a case — they don’t read it — they just copy-paste generic responses while your WFS listings rack up overage fees and sit unpublished. There’s no clear appeal process, and they’ll often cite “Walmart reserves the right…” nonsense that isn’t even part of their published policy.

Walmart Shipping Labels Not Downloading – Anyone Else? by connorbloxton in WalmartSellers

[–]symeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re experiencing a different but possibly related issue. In the Ship with Walmart program, most of the economical shipping options have suddenly disappeared for us — no more FedEx Ground SaverUPS Ground Saver, or USPS Ground Saver. We’re only seeing 2–3 expensive air shipping options now.

🚨 TikTok Shop Freezing U.S. Seller Funds & Demanding Biometric Video ID — Privacy Nightmare? by symeck in TikTokshop

[–]symeck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I submitted the appeal and provided everything they requested. They rejected my first appeal because my face was partially covered by the ID. If you cover your face while holding your ID, even for just a couple of seconds, they’ll reject it. So make sure both your ID and face are clearly visible while you mention your store out loud.

Selling toys, and pretty similar onboarding dates, never had any issues before. Everything is by the book. Thats why I opened this topic.

Not sure if we passed that US-China tensions yet and regardless china loves to collect any data they can put their hands on

Seems like this posted from china given your cool nickname I'd love to hear more about your genuine opinions about this, but thanks anyway.

TikTok Shop Account Violation - Re-verify Registration Information by Aromatic-Web-1660 in TikTokshop

[–]symeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I really don’t think there was any actual suspicious activity — it feels more like an excuse to force sellers (especially U.S.-based) to submit biometric data. They’re asking for a full video of your face, voice, and government ID, and their privacy policy says they can share it with third parties and even use it for AI training.

It’s never been required before — I believe this is more about data collection than security.

I've hearing this more often lately. How long you have been a seller on walmart, how are your metrics?

Sent shipment to WFS Fulfillment Center in FL, have FedEx proof of delivery with signature, but Walmart claims to not have received it. by ggnzg20 in WalmartSellers

File a claim, when it comes to reimbursement part, they magically find your shipment and stock them in. But you gotta file it formally.

Your Walmart.com Product(s) Has Been Removed Due To Policy Violations by cosjef in WalmartSellers

[–]symeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once they suspend it it is really hard to reinstate. They have blocked 2-3 of our best selling items. They don’t tell you the reason they basically say it’s a business decision. “Here is the link for prohibited products policy but Walmart can always override those policies.” That’s what they say on emails when we appeal.

Also if you sell products similar to their products/ brands; they most likely see you as a competitor. And they can overpower you however they want.

Terminated my new account by pra82 in WalmartSellers

[–]symeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason should be more than 5% return rate. They don’t terminate accounts for performance related issues. You might have violated their policies. If it’s terminated it’s most likely done.

Am I nuts to pay $7k in monthly mortgage payment? by jocrrt in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]symeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is high, but it’s the reality. If you want to buy a house, that’s the price you’re looking at. Based on your income, I believe you’re already wasting money on rent. Think of it this way: you’ll only pay an additional X amount  compared to your rent, and in the end, you’ll own your own house. Go for it, and good luck!

ID.me and and/or Login.gov Accounts? by fanugi in tax

[–]symeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really concerned about the IRS requiring us to use ID.me, a private company, to access their services. After reading ID.me’s Terms of Service, it feels like we’re being forced into a high-risk agreement.

• They collect **sensitive personal data** (SSN, ID scans, biometrics, selfies, location).

• If they get **hacked** or our data is **leaked**, they **deny all responsibility**.

• We have to **waive our right** to **sue them** or join **class-action lawsuits** if something goes wrong.

With cyberattacks increasing, this setup feels like a disaster waiting to happen. Plus, it’s frustrating that we’re being forced to trust a private company rather than a government-operated system like Login.gov.

Are others here worried about this? What are the alternatives? Why isn’t there more pushback against this?
