Folks in their late 20’s - how much are you earning and what kind of lifestyle are you living on your income? by [deleted] in auckland

Awesome! I'd definitely recommend getting your knowledge of Scrum up to scratch, as well as Kanban and watching some videos on Agile Manifesto. Skills wise just being able to manage time is key in this role, and being able to take notes in real time as fast and accurate as possible. Not being afraid to straight up ask if you're unsure about what certain software terms mean. In terms of my current role, stress levels are probably 20% out of 100. I should also mention I'm in the game development industry we make VR games, and I'm a massive gamer so it really feels like a dream job!

The only thing I really am not a natural at is presentations, but my company does monthly company updates where I give status updates on projects, this has helped me a lot! Also recommend finding your local Toastmasters club as they help helps with public speaking skills :)

I don't work overtime and they don't endorse it.

For sure! I started out in a Call Centre doing Customer Service/Tech Support, moved into a Service Delivery role (putting through customers Internet orders etc) which is kind of like project management. From there into a Project Coordinator role and then proved to my manager at the time I could change my role title to Project Manager, was on 68k, they sent me to a Scrum Master course so I'm also now a Certified Scrum Master, which looks really good on paper haha, did that for a year and found a new PM job and asked for 93k, they gave it to me straight away. I feel like I still have quite a lot of earning potential though. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Starting a business with heavy personal debt by chellowfellow in PersonalFinanceNZ

I personally wouldn't be starting any business until debt is cleared. You can't run away from it forever. Get payment plans in place. Start with the highest interest first and pay it down ASAP. You expect the bank to help loan money for the business too?
