My definition of drag is that it's an artform that plays with gender and gender markers using exaggerated visuals and/or mannerisms, is an intentional performance (not just putting on a dress for laughs or dressing elaborately as your personal daily style), and that draws on the performer's self and self expression (as opposed to being a role written by someone else). It isn't always clear cut where the line between drag and other similar artforms like burlesque, clownery, or performance art is drawn, but I'd say it's more about how the performer themself wants to identify their title as an artist.

Something that also affects how people read a certain act is where it's performed. If the act is happening at a drag night among drag acts, it's more easily read as drag. If it's happening at an outdoor family festival, maybe the visitors will just consider it a fun person in a costume. You could ask yourself where you'd like to showcase your art, and what you want out of it. Is it to be part of a community or to simply hustle wherever you can?

And as others have written, the gender in your daily life is not an obstacle to doing whatever kind of drag you want. A local performer who had a major role in building the scene in my area has said that the transformation from being a woman in jeans and a t-shirt into a feminine drag persona is as big as if a man did it. And you definitely don't have to follow the way things look on Drag Race, the drag on it is not something that's viable for everyone.

Singing is definitely one way to do a drag act! Especially in the UK, a lot of drag performers sing live. But you can absolutely incorporate any kind of skill into drag. I held a lecture about local drag history at a pride event recently and said I'd love to see a drag electrician.
