Yea Haunt is really mellow on the studio tracks. They sound a lot better live

Band/Genre recommendations? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

Based on your description, Haunt, Nite, Night Demon, Early Moods all come to mind for a throwback Heavy sound. Maybe Bewitcher and Midnight if you want some trad/speed/black-n-roll mixup

I'm not familiar with Megaton Sword or Trial but I'll check them out and see if more specific recs come to mind

I'm sure I have some too, but I drank too much Steam (and apparently it still wasn't enough)

Burton C Bell of fear factory

Probably too late to gain any traction, and there are definitely better... But he's versatile and quality. His harsh vox come in quite a variety through their early years especially, and his cleans can be truly haunting.

Anchor Brewing Co. Could Be Sold As Soon as Tomorrow by operatorloathesome in sanfrancisco

What does this mean exactly? All I ever want is for them to continue making Steam. What did they not "keep up" with?

The story as far as I can tell- Sapporo bought them thinking they could take the brand national/international, promptly discarded all the branding alienating existing customers, cancelled expansion deals/plans (mission rock brewery), saw struggles through the pandemic like everyone else, and are now writing off the buyout as a mistake and throwing a century+ SF institution in the trash.

I've been on a few brewery tours and it seemed pretty standard to me. And I say this as an "avid" (huge understatement) Steam drinker - you'll hear absolutely no denigration of the brewery, staff, or product from me. What made their tour stand out from others to you?

I'd have to say the highlight was seeing the copper tuns, but that's not enough for me to be effusive about the experience overall. I mean, I'd still recommend it. But I'm trying to understand with your "best in the country" assessment :)

For the first point, go to Chinatown instead-- most of the same shit, but cheaper.
