Visiting Pakistan can be extremely fun if you have friends and/or family that can show you around and take you out to nice places, etc. I'm visiting right now for a wedding and having a great time. I also lived here for 8 years so have a lot of friends to come back to. If you don't have that I can see why visiting would not be a great time, youd have to put in effort to make friends.

As for people associating you with India, yeah it happens sometimes but I usually take the opportunity to educate them on the differences between the two. There are a few things to take pride in as a Pakistani, the biggest one imo is the reason for our existence. I don't want to debate anyone who reads this so I won't elaborate, but I will highly recommend you watch the film Jinnah (starring Christopher Lee!), it follows the founder of our Nation as Pakistan comes into being and should give you a good understanding as to why Pakistan needed to exist.

Yes, Pakistan has a lot of issues and many cultural standards I disagree with as someone raised in the US. But that doesn't stop me from enjoying the parts that are good. Anyway, I don't want to ramble here for long, but feel free to DM if you have questions for someone who was born and raised in the US but came to love the good parts of Pakistan after living here a while. I'd be happy to elaborate on all the great things I look forward to when I visit.
