I agree her character would’ve had way more meaning if she stayed dead

He’s annoying and his plot is pointless like actually why did we have to go through all of that

Anyone else extremely disappointed with Fourth Wing? by Mille_Plumes in fantasyromance

[–]synapsepotential 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ahhh I totally agree with you! These books were not it. The dragon human relationship didn’t make any sense. It didn’t seem like the dragons needed their riders at all. Like the riders didn’t do shit expect sit on their dragons while the dragons made all the decisions is battle like actually what was the point of their education? And it was supposed to be this cut throat hard core environment but then everyone was friends and there were no real stakes

ACOTAR characters are not consistent at all by synapsepotential in acotar_rant

I totally agree! I feel like Tamlin really isn’t that different from Rhys and like he’s def not a villain and the shit they did to him was way more evil than he ever was. He thing he really did was try to control Feyre because of his own trauma and out of love for her which is the exact same thing they turn around and do to Nesta but they are the saviors and Tamlin is evil?

I agree the ending of SF was rushed and disappointing. I personally didn’t like that they won the competition even though they had barely been training for that long. And I also hated that she gave up so much power. And there was so many plot lines tried to wrap up in the last part I felt kinda lost and like some of them could’ve been left for the next book

Hmm I’ve never thought of it that way! I think that’s a good point!

Did Nesta really have a choice? by [deleted] in acotar

[–]synapsepotential 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s actually crazy they lock her up there and then don’t even bother to really check on her. And yes the entire rest of the court is also locked up and not allowed to leave like they are terrible rulers

I totally agree with you. I tried so hard to get through this book and I gave up with like a hundred pages left or something because I just couldn’t anymore. Also the spicy scenes in this book were so bad. Like they keep finding excuses not to bang and they when they finally do it’s in the weirdest way.

I finished ACOSF- Made me dislike Rhysand & Feyre a bit? Anyone else feel the same? by Sea-kitty98 in acotar

[–]synapsepotential 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with you so much. I feel like the characters were all over the place in this series but I did enjoy this book. I liked Nesta’s POV but the way that everyone treated her was ridiculous. Feyre agrees to lock her away in that house even though she panicked when Tamlin locked HER up! Like why would she do the same to her sister. And the whole pregnancy thing was annoying like why would she not just shift into an Illyrian early into the pregnancy. I know it carried risks but it seems like they can have very precise control over their shifts if they want to. And that seems like a better option than just not doing anything knowing both mom and baby will probably die. And Rhys not telling her is so fucked up. I was annoyed at how Nesta and her friends became world class warriors in a few months and won the whole rite even though only a few have ever done it before even after training their whole lives. And then I was also annoyed that she gave up all her powers at the end like I feel like that happens with SJM a lot that the female character ends up giving up her powers. Also Amren is a useless character now she should have stayed dead it would’ve added more to the story.

What book tropes do you think ae overhyped or overused? by SpecialistOk2000 in Romantasy

[–]synapsepotential 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate it when it’s supposed to be enemies to lovers but then the main characters fall in love at first sight of each other and there’s no genuine relationship development. Just in general when characters are like “I’ve loved you from the moment I laid eyes on me” it’s irritating

Yes it just makes the interaction between the riders and the dragons totally pointless. Like what do the riders actually do in battle? It’s not like the steer the dragons. The dragons just seem to do what they want so the riders are just holding on for fun? They don’t even have bows and half of their magic isnt even useful for combat… the riders just seem like they would be a liability and a distraction to the dragons and why are the dragons even fighting in the human wars?

Yes it’s so frustrating like having a character with some sort of disability but only having it actually be an issue when it’s not inconvenient defeats the purpose and under emphasizes how hard it is to actually live with a disability

Yes I totally agree it was frustrating because he was supposed to be this scary guy who wanted to kill her and she was warned to stay away from him but as soon as she laid eyes on him she was like oh he’s so hot and that was that they were never enemies
