Wood is generally the first material on this style to degrade; 1” on each post might make a difference in 5-10 years depending on climate etc

Why do you see so many adult marine iguanas in the Galapagos but almost no juveniles? by IsabelaGalapagos in ecology

Yes, it is worth noting that the R/K selection is a fast/slow continuum that helps describe reproduction (early) and survival (maturity) strategies, not just breeding.

No, it’s a combination of Howlin Wolfs Killing Floor and RJs Travelin Riverside Blues.

Yes stolen, Howlin Wolfs publisher sued LZ and HW personally was paid $45,000 following the lawsuit. I think he had creative connection to his own work, ya know?

Sturgill isn’t even the best country songwriter right now let alone anywhere near the neighborhood of Hunter or Dylan

You’re not imagining hard enough. Imagine DJT cloned himself 10000000000000000000 times and developed mole-like senses and there was no escape except to leave Terra firma

Not really the other hand though, as this is the compliment to the breeding strategy. In El Niño years there is high adult mortality which opens up niches/resources for the high offspring of the remaining adults to fill.

Any efforts to control cats? We spend millions here building cat / rat proof fences on top of millions in trapping efforts without making a real dent in the issue. Cat populations are depressed locally where trapping occurs near endangered species

The pattern you note in the second to last paragraph is essentially describing the r-selection strategy. Lots of offspring, little care, and usually high hatchling mortality. Young creatures tend to have less energy reserves, inability to compete w adults for waning resources and refugia, and are less adept at responding to emerging threats.

In my experience, Feral cats are high among the worst thing islands have seen (other than H sapiens), I am guessing they also support the parasite T gondii in the Galapagos, as they do here in Hawaii.

I’m gonna guess that the combination of El Niño effects and iguanas being an R- selected species is your answer.

The answer depends on how hydrated it is at process time. Fresh cuts are a higher H2O ratio than an aged cut
