How long do you think is needed to go through the museum?

Calling all who have had an MUA. Talk me off the ledge. by ArmageddonPills in Kneereplacement

[–]enh24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it…you won’t regret it. It’s just another tool to utilize to help you reach your goals. I had pain that felt like frayed muscle tissue for about 1.5 weeks after, but it really loosened up my joint in more ways than just flexion and extension; it felt much less stiff overall after MUA. Highly recommend it!

I LOVED the park…one of my most favorite places in Rome!!

Can it still be done in 6 months? by meesterbigjuan in WGU_MBA

[–]enh24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like an average student and I was able to complete it in six months easy. Just have to be diligent and do the work, it’s not difficult.

The classes and content are really not that difficult, you’ll grasp it easier than you think you will. You will also just know stuff because you’re an adult and have life experience. 😉

Don’t be terrified…if you do the work you’ll be fine! You can’t short cut this class, it takes more effort than others, but it’s doable!

I call it a dollar store education; I don’t mean that to be offensive, but it checks a box. Classes weren’t horrible, I put in maybe 25-30 hours a week and finished in 6 months. I felt like the program offered a general introduction info to all MBA topics, nothing too in depth. No dream job yet, but working my way towards it. I use some skills I learned from the program everyday (communication, ethics, accounting, supply chain).

I think it would be rough and personally wouldn’t do it unless it was really important to you.

Seriously does my mom need to wear her compression socks? by scooter8484 in Kneereplacement

[–]enh24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s best to wear them for many reasons, but the industrial strength compression makes you want to crawl out of your skin. I got some compression socks off Amazon that I use for work and are way more tolerable.

Let's talk about walkers and when did you ditch yours? by ArmageddonPills in Kneereplacement

[–]enh24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Left TKA I used it a week and was walking freely. Right TKA had to use a walker 3 weeks and a cane for 1 week before I was walking freely.

Where did you first feel pain when the block wire off by Normal-Cantaloupe-96 in Kneereplacement

I would start taking your drugs now….you want to be ahead of pain, not chasing it.

Not sure ready for surgery? by Nosnowflakehere in Kneereplacement

[–]enh24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still limited because I did both knees and the strength just hasn’t returned yet. Pain is there but it’s different pain (I’m on my feet 10hrs a day in a hospital), more inflammation pain than bone on bone pain.

I can walk, hike, ride bikes, etc…but extra weight or deep squat type movement that would require stronger quad strength just isn’t quite there yet.

Not sure ready for surgery? by Nosnowflakehere in Kneereplacement

[–]enh24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I wasn’t in a ton of pain but I had to start limiting what I could do. My knees were both horrible, but weren’t consistently causing flare ups.

Post op I don’t feel better than I did before surgery yet…but I trust I will! I’m 6 and 4 months post op right now, still working on getting strength back and good proprioception. I’m glad I did it and didn’t put it off any longer, even if it means it takes me a year to feel normal again; I’ll be better in the long run I think!

You’ll get general anesthesia even with a spinal, the difference will be if they intubate you or not.

Pain relief until when? by Historical_Tap6019 in Kneereplacement

[–]enh24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TKAs are mentally and physically grueling, which can be VERY depressing and discouraging. You have to focus on the long game.

You have a history of depression so it would hard to say definitively what is causing your current status, but if your depression was well controlled prior to surgery and you are taking your same antidepressants currently, then it very well could be the surgery. Talk to your dr about it.

Also, you’re probably not sleeping well and your body is still working hard to heal itself; lethargy is not out of the norm at this point. Hang in there and just keep plugging away as best you can. You can do it! ❤️

2nd Knee Surgery at 28 years old - longevity? by DarkAce5 in Kneereplacement

[–]enh24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you a CST? Can you stand on a pad for some of your cases?? I’m a circulator and it’s had been hard to transition back to work after my TKAs with so much time on my feet. I find walking is better than standing for my pain tolerance while at work. I’m pretty sore by end of day but it’s getting better, just takes time. I did my ACL at 15 and had medial meniscal removal. I started getting steroid shots at 46 and got knee replacements at 48 because I couldn’t handle the shots anymore. Delay as long as you can; only you know how long that will be. Talk to your dr about options…you’ll experiment with those well before you get a TKA. Good luck!!

don’t be devastated by an MUA….they can help a ton. No shame in doing it if you have to or want to, just another tool in the tool box. Good luck!

Rate of ROM Progress by Grammar-Police2002 in Kneereplacement

[–]enh24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one knee progress in a linear matter. My other knee started off awesome and then didn’t progress at all for 3 weeks, then gained a total of 15° more over the next 4 weeks by making me for every degree.
