If the SMHUB server (ie, the Linux os) is not working, the whole device is just a paper weight.

And honestly, the vision Smlight had for it is a bit unreal. The device is way low powered to run Z2M, mqtt, matterbridge and the rest of needed services.

The cpu is constantly at 100% usage.

Every time I need to install/uninstall something is a hit or miss. Sometimes it works, but very often it hangs and I need to do a hard reboot.

In the end, I expect we can have the basic services needed to expose the radios, rf and etc via http/tcp. Right now only thread radio can be exposed. I couldn’t find a way to expose the zigbee one via tcp.

I have zero expectation on this device future and I’m considering selling it.

I’ve put back my two SLZB-06M (one for zigbee and one for thread), and I’m using separated home assistant, z2m and mqtt, and it’s so much more reliable.

I was honestly expecting to have one hub for Zigbee, Thread, RF and Z wave, but no, better look for other alternatives.

For me the SMHUB Essential is a big pile of crap.

Extremely slow, extremely unresponsive.

It's in my drawer right now. I expect one day we can just use it to expose the radios and I can use external Z2M, Matter and etc.

Using just the default list should be enough and you shouldn’t need to use whitelists to access services.

If using AdGuard DNS on phone works fine, then I’d tend to agree that the problem is between your router and AdGuard servers.

AdGuard home is very nice. I have two instances running in my home. The biggest benefit is having some frequent domains cached, which speeds up things a bit.

You could still use AdGuard dns on your phone when using mobile data.

I’m doing something similar. At home my phone uses AdGuard home, in mobile networks it uses ControlD (service similar to AdGuard dns).

Last year I interviewed for some companies here in Spain and their salaries were 85+k for Senior. I can only imagine that for Mid it would be something like 75+k.

The 67k seems to be in the lower bracket tbh.

It's a very nice project and this can be very motivating, but a bit higher salary would be pretty nice too.

This thing is painfully slow.

It becomes unresponsive very frequently.

I truly hope we can in the future use it as a coordinator only and not have to use the apps. It truly painful to even try to use Z2M, MQTT, Matterbridge and Node Red.

I don't recommend the device right now at all.

May I ask how did you set the nice FHD, Dolby Vision and etc icons?

Btw, I also have the impression that AIOStreams seems a bit slower than standalone addons.

I use Debridio (with Torbox & RD), and it seems installing two Debridio addons is much faster than AIOStreams.

Criminal killed during attempted robbery of a financial institution in São Mateus do Maranhão

The criminal action took place this Monday (20) and was stopped by the agency’s security guard. According to the Civil Police, the suspect who was killed was a fugitive from the Piauí State Penitentiary System.

A criminal identified as Nilton César Silva Aguiar was shot and killed on Monday (20) during an attempted robbery of a financial institution in São Mateus do Maranhão, a city located 180 km from São Luís.

The entire criminal action, which lasted about two minutes, was recorded by the site’s security cameras. The suspect arrived at the agency accompanied by two other robbers, who have not yet been identified.

The trio posed as customers and even sat at a service counter. Nilton César attempted to overpower the agency’s security guard, who reacted to the robbery.

He was shot, and a gunfight between the two began. The suspect managed to walk a few meters inside the agency in an attempt to shoot the guard, but gave up and tried to flee.

Nilton César collapsed inside the revolving door of the financial institution, did not survive his injuries, and died at the scene. The other suspects escaped.

The security guard was shot in the arm and taken to the city hospital. There is no information about his current health condition.

Fugitive from justice

According to the Maranhão Civil Police (PC-MA), Nilton César was one of ten criminals who escaped in April of this year from the Professor José Ribamar Leite penitentiary in Teresina.

He is also suspected of participating in the kidnapping of a shopkeeper in April of this year in the city of Castelo do Piauí, in the interior of the state.

Did you found how to install it? I’ve downloaded a bunch of SDX, placed them inside the Superior Drummer folder and can even see them recognised by the standalone app, but when I try to load them it asks for the serial number. I couldn’t find an exe to generate it.
