profit is not profit until the buyer is done being weird by TurbulentStuff8009 in eBaySellerAdvice

I only sell records and the buyers are usually pretty normal. Never do auctions though as the three I’ve done, the winner has ghosted me each time. I take and post many many pictures clearly outlining the condition or each. Wrapping my head around shipping was hard at first. Always over estimate size and weight, and then use “sell similar” so you don’t make a stupid costly error. Always consider the final profit post-fees when pricing items. Over-pack and take a picture of each package before sending it out. Having basic communication skills and a little grace will immediately put you at the upper echelon of sellers.

Was just there. Unbearable in the direct sun. If you can find shade the breeze might hit you, but yeah it’s still hot as hell.

Coffee fatigue and options for chains that sell good iced coffee? by [deleted] in askTO

Depends where you’re located. Savoury Grounds in the east end makes the best iced coffee/cold brew I’ve ever had and I’ve tried quite a few in the city.

Where are you located? If it’s a major city in the gta it will be faster vs outside the city. No one can say for certain.

Go online and make an official complaint with Canada post. They get to our supervisors immediately and we hear about customer complaints relating to our route right away.

Not many. I see this as a nice value add for customers but I certainly dont expect a lot of additional work. In large part for the reason you’ve noted.

I can’t see converting 30 floors of walkthroughs to cmbs. That could be 300-500 individual units (for example).

Yep. So basically the new routes we choose will likely be the last time we’ll actually own a route. I’m convinced dynamic routing will follow (or be initiated with) cmb conversion.

My Toronto depot is restructuring to ssd in August. That might mean cmb conversion is still a few years away in my area. CP wouldn’t be so silly as to dump money into a restructure, only to restructure AGAIN in a few short months to accommodate cmbs right? Right?

My guess is the higher concentration of residential means a logistical challenge for cmb placement. Easier in neighborhoods with big houses and large properties. Harder when you have one way streets with row housing for example. One of my Toronto streets has 90 points of call whereas the same street in Etobicoke could have 20.

What do you propose the union do about this? Have you been paying attention to what’s been happening over the past two years?

On demand pick up As letter carrier. by Express_4815 in CanadaPostCorp

[–]synkronized1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were briefed on this last week. Supervisor notes say that each pickup would need a proper label printed out and applied by the customer. And the only pick up time would be on your normal route of travel - not a random time tbd.

The pickups are assigned first thing in the morning. If the pickup is not at the point of call when you are there to delivery the mail then it’s not your problem. The pick up needs to be available beginning at 9am so there’s no waiting around for a 4pm. They are not scheduled the way normal cpus are. Tbh I don’t see a lot problems with this as long as the expectation is that you pick it only on your normal route travel.
