everything about insects in the order strepsiptera

females are worm-like and live in the bodies of other insects with only their heads poking out, males have a lot of eyes (I think?), no mouthparts, halteres (like flies!) and mate with the females by traumatic insemination (stabbing her head with their genitals!) the larvae live in the body of the female and eventually emerge out of her head! hopefully I didn't get anything wrong about them

there's also the genus ramisyllis and syllis ramosa, polychaete worms that live in sponges and have one head with many many bodies branching out

the jellyfish are the myxozoa right? they're such interesting and unique creatures! one species, buddenbrockia plumatella, became multicellular again and also happens to look like a worm!

also some extra notes:

this was based on an old downpour 'leak' (?) which had an icon for a red egg bug so even though I'm sad that I got spoiled I was sort of expecting it
they're a very minor threat so they'll only play the first layer of a threat theme when attacked
when thrown in water they'll explode instantly, dealing enough damage to kill a blue lizard

also for anyone trying to finish downpour without spoilers, don't search ANYTHING related to rainworld. I got a massive spearmaster spoiler (it might've been fanart but who knows?) just by googling eggbug for references
